Anyone who went to university during the 1970s & '80s understands just how important the role of the higher education system was toward the goal of integrating Blacks into the upper middle class by making opportunities available to young Blacks where before they had been virtually shut out. Universities & colleges, many of them by their own initiative took it upon themselves to make places available for Black students, even to the point of providing the remedial instruction necessary. Just as important, it gave many white students their first opportunities to meet, live with, and get to know Black students. Only the integration of the US military was as important.
The very fact that DeSantos calls these programs "ideological" shows just how "ideological" he is being. I said it before, DeSantos is the new "George Wallace" and unfit to be President of the United States of America.
