Re: Democrat Socialist Timeline - USA

just for you schnur:

Dear Friend,   Yesterday the House voted on a common-sense immigration bill that defends the rule of law, provides funding for the wall, and allows DACA recipients (people who were brought to America illegally as children) to have continued residency as long as they pay their taxes and don’t break the law. They may apply for citizenship but will not be allowed to jump ahead of others who have previously applied.   As a member of the Homeland Security Committee, I spoke in favor of the Goodlatte bill on the House floor and was a co-sponsor of this measure. I was proud to be among 193 Republicans who voted for the bill.    Unfortunately, every single Democrat voted against the Goodlatte bill, which failed by a vote of 193 to 231.   This vote happened after President Trump issued an executive order ending family separations at the border. The issue still needs to be addressed by Congress and the ironic thing is the Goodlatte bill provided a permanent legislative fix that would prevent families from being separated at the border.   Every single Democrat in the U.S. House voted against ending family separations at the border. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat's hypocrisy in exploiting migrant children for political gain is shameful.   Let’s be clear about why this bill failed: President Trump has worked with Congress. Republicans in Congress worked together to find a common-sense solution to the problem of our broken immigration system. Unfortunately, Democrats offer no ideas and continue to perpetuate open borders for their own political gain.   On immigration, Nancy Pelosi and Democrats want a political issue, not a solution. They are more than happy to play political games with migrant children while they push for open borders and amnesty, exploiting the very people they say they want to help. President Trump won’t let that happen and neither will I.    Democrats need to work with Republicans in Congress and stop opposing common-sense border security provisions like additional agents at the border, more judges to process cases quickly, and a wall on the border where appropriate based on terrain and population density on either side of the border.   The issue of immigration has divided our nation for too long. Republicans have shown leadership on this issue. Democrats need to condemn the extreme rhetoric and tactics on their side and come to the table to work toward a solution. After all, the vast majority of Americans enjoy the blessings of liberty because of our heritage of legal immigration. Our American heritage should unite us, not divide us.   Sincerely, Rep. Ron Estes 4thCongressional District
