Democratic Debates I.

So o many using full sentences and correct to speak. Great topics. Great answers. So refreshing compared to what we have been hearing. Of course many of us here will feel differently, whether they (we) watched on not. The next debate will also be interesting. I feel like there is hope from this abyss we are living with now.

I definitely seen it differently and was much less impressed, topics expected; answers were whom can give away the most free stuff, and Trump bad.  There was a lot of free this and free that but nothing new that we hadn't heard.  However I will rank who in my opinion won this debate: 1. Klobucher, 2. Gabbard, 3. Delaney

Warren was the obvious choice of the MSNBC hosts.  I was very surprised that there was not one mention of the Democrat front runner Biden.  There will be no hope if we would have to live with the abyss of this crew.

Like a "gaper's delay?"

I can understand your feeling of living in "...this abyss..." after seeing these libs fighting for all these months for who can destroy our Republic the quickest. From what I heard of their proclamations last night, it didn't change that. But I didn't see the whole thing.

Mice die in mouse traps because they do not understand why the cheese is free.

The same thing happens with SOCIALISM.

With that said, I didn’t waste any time watching a train wreck. I worked on my Haybine, instead.

Re: Democratic Debates I.

I have done a considerable amount of public speaking.  I also spoke on the radio, not as a caller but as a commentator.  Neither of which qualified me for anything beyond what I was doing.

I interviewed a gentleman that farmed several thousand acres, ran a trucking line and had a large cattle feeding operation, he didn't enunciate some words correctly nor did he use any words beyond an 8th grade level.  But, he knew how to make money, provide jobs and take care of his family.

Slick Willie and Barack were proficient at speaking, yet both were less than qualified to run the USA for the benefit of working and investing individuals.

Rare breed

was just on another farm website forum, and after reading about the debates and the jokes I was wondering if whoever emerges from the democrat tank will even win a state in 2020.....some of the diehard liberal types were indicating they might not even vote this time around, or even (gasp) vote for Donald Trump.

I didn't watch any of the debates and missed hearing Amy K. talk about "Uncle Dick" and Blasio telling Cory Booker about his black son, and Lizzie Warren just hoping no one would do a Indian war whoop. Guess the main topic was who could promise more free stuff.

That must be the new American dream. Good to hear that there still is a rival party to Trump , though...I was thinking that the Donald would just be phoning this next election in....sounds like you (Knapper) might actually vote against him.

Re: Rare breed

I will not vote for Donald J. Trump because "He's not my type."

I think boiling down the Democratic debates to "...who could promise more free stuff" may me a dangerous assumption for Republicans to take. The "free stuff" may be health care for the most part. The republicans have thus far failed to do anything about health care except have a failed vote on repealing it with no plan for replacement. They don't really seem to care, and prefer to argue about social issues instead while Trump leads them all over the board and world with other issues and no cohesive goals.

Tonight's debate will be interesting as well.

You must also remember that during the last election, there was a big Republican pack running and many right wingers were turned off my them. In the end, trump was the nominee and most districts held their nose and voted for him and won even without a majority of the electorate.

Re: Democratic Debates I.

Kurt - some good points. I have no problems with simple speech. Will Rogers is a great example - what a wonderful man and communicator. I suppose I really meant coherent speech. Here are some examples like I was talking about:

"When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

“He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”

“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”

“Well I really watch the shows. You really see a lot of great, you know, when you watch your show and all of the other shows, and you have the generals and you have certain people that you like.”

“I think, for me, nuclear is just the power, the devastation is very important to me.”

"The moon is part of Mars."

etc...etc...etc.

Re: Democratic Debates I.

or this gem ;

"look, having nuclear - my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr John Trump at MIT ; good genes , very good genes, ok, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart - you know, if you're a conservative Republican , if I were a liberal , if like , ok , if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world - it's true! - but when you're a conservative Republican they try - oh, do they do a number - that's why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune - you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we're a little disadvantaged - but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me - it would have been so easy, and it's not as important as these lives are - nuclear is so powerful ; my uncle  explained that to me many, many years ago and he was right, who would have thought? - but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners - now it used to be three, now it is four - but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't , they haven't figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it's gonna take them about another 150 years - but the Persians are great negotiators , the Iranians are great negotiators, so , they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible."  Donald Trump word salad.
