All foods from meat to tomatoes that have been improved have been done so by genetic modification. It is called crossbreeding.

Genetic modification is when a gene is added or moved. As in the case of roundup ready soybeans. A gene was added to the bean so roundup could not kill it.

That is what cross breeding does.

Gene splicing is much faster. You could cross breed but if neither plant had a gene which makes the plant tolerant to roundup the offspring will also not be tolerant. Now in the case of BT corn for corn bore the gene that kills corn bore when they feed was moved from the lower portion of the plant up to a much higher point.

You are entitled to your opinion as well as the consumers of farm products. The consumers have the right to make judgements about GMOs and they have the right to be informed about whether a food product incles GMO material. So label it properly and allow the consumer to choose what they buy.

Do you want processers to force consumers to buy Gmo products? Why?

GMO's on the scientific level, for those concerned, require a broad understanding of biology and ethics.
