Dems want more man made global warmimg regs

If the dems win it all this fall get ready to open your checkbook. No rat hole is too frivolous to stuff with other people's cash. They have already called in the big gun, Big Algore. We all know what kind of a climate science expert he is, he told us so. Go gitem Al, another huge speaker fee.

A group of Senate Democrats is planning a new offensive on climate change, one that members hope will galvanize congressional colleagues.

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) said Thursday the group will be "going on the offensive" on climate change to "wake up Congress." Boxer and Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) made the announcement in a meeting with reporters.

The Climate Action Task Force has 12 members -- all Democrats -- so far, Boxer said, and will hold an official unveiling Tuesday. The task force's efforts will include public events, floor speeches and bringing more outside partners, like religious organizations and businesses that support slowing climate change, to the table. "Everybody gets it, except for Congress," Boxer said.

Whitehouse said there has long been a "barricade of special-interest lies around Congress and around Washington" when it comes to climate change, and the group seeks to break it down. "Once that barricade is broken, all sorts of things become possible," Whitehouse said.

While the focus is more on advocacy than on promoting specific legislation, Boxer said she believes members could help build momentum for bills on fuel economy, alternative fuels and energy efficiency. Boxer acknowledged that they "don't have the votes" for many of the measures they would like to see passed in the Senate right now, "but we're going to get them."

For its first event, the task force invited former Vice President Al Gore to speak to senators shortly before the Christmas holiday.

And bringing in Gore means that they aren't actually serious about this, but more likely just dressing up the windows of their campaign operations in order to keep liberal funders hooked up.  Just more money and politics scrop.

You can't be serious. If they hold the senate and retake the house the will impose regulations not even Al ever dreamed of being able to impose.

Bull hockey.  You say IF....If they keep theSenate whcih should be easy for them to do and gain the House, which there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of them doing with the last round of re-districting and all of the voter supression actions that have been taken in states with GOP Governors and legislatures.

But...If by some rare chance the Democrats did gain the house they could only do it by the election of a big bunch of moderate to conservative, probably big business backed (because lots of folks in that circle are sick of you Bible thumpers wrecking their party) Democrats who will be trusted to be DINOs on environmental and energy issues.

Hell, my two Democratic Senators from Minnesota, one seen as a dead on centrist and the other percieved to be one of the more liberal members of The Senate jump like they've been shot at whenever anybody from manufacturing, mining, energy and most particularilly agribusiness and the commodity organizations as much as whisper "jump".  These new Dem members of the House that you seem to fear and most likely will not see are going to have to be from far to the right of Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken. Or they won't win those seats.

The one thing they would not be, and therefore I would hope it would play out that way even if Blue state liberals couldn't coulnt on them for support on this that and the other thing, is that they won't have binding ties to baggers and thumpers.

So if that is what you fear, rather than so much what you say you do, and which I suspect to be true, then you might have some cause to worry.  Some kids somewhere might get Head Start offered in their town or neighborhood that is full of humans that you don't deem inhernetly worhty of it or something else along that order.  But the Ag and Energy Complexes are safe from the greenies and the back to nature crowd, either way it goes.

The thumpers are the problem. HEE, HEE, HEE. The dems don't even have to win the house, Boehner will give you establishment people anything you want. A vote for an establishment liberal is a vote for more freedom robbing regulation. All to save the planet for the children.
