Hard to look away.

Then in this case  you'd be qualified for the recommendation that late Sec. of Agriculture had for The Pope when the subject of birth control came up.

It's EVIL! Glorifying drugs, sex and violence! The righteous right don't hold with entertainment like that. In fact, I think most of them have their TV's (if they even have one) channels blocked with the exception of the sports channels. 20 calls Beyonce a prostitute! She must be pretty good because she and her husband are worth over $850 nillion!

Re: Did anybody else here watch Breaking Bad?

I watched through season 3 on Netflix last year.  My wife and I would watch 3 to 4 episodes a night.   I haven't watched seasons 4 and 5  yet but plan to.  I thought it was very entertaining but more than once it troubled me to be pulling for one drug dealer to triumph over others and the law.

Re: Did anybody else here watch Breaking Bad?

It's pretty amazing that the writers of thse shows can develop a sympathetic feeling in the public for some pretty disgusting behavior. Breaking Bad and the Sopranos are glaring examples of that and I don't mean to discredit the actors that played those parts.

I've seen a few episodes of breaking bad but the Mrs was somewhat addicted to the show. Cranston has received some glowing accolades for his performances as did James Gandolfini. Some folks can just immerse themselves into characters and make them sypathetic and believable.

Re: Did anybody else here watch Breaking Bad?

Galdofini passed so this won't affect him, but I wonder if Cranston, who has always been a great actor since he first showed up on Malcolm in the Middle, won't run into the Edith Bunker syndrome, having cemented himself in people's minds as Walter White.

Jean Stapleton, who played Edith, was a very successful stage actress before she took teh role as M;s Archie and it was said that, after she went back on to live stage acting, that she could never enter a scene without someone in the audience starting to laugh or giggle.  Gary Burhoff  apparently had a heck of a time getting roles after MASH was done, as no one could project him as anyone but Radar.
