Are you wishing that there was some sancitity that comes with the transfer of the deed that would overide obligations on existing operating debts? Or on the obligations taken on via loan or contract by the particular heir who chose to buy out the others?

Just because Grandpa dies there shouldn't be any chance that the place go on under then?  The net inheritance factor may come in, but it isn't discounted by the standing feed bill or any new notes.

If that was possible tax accountants and estate planners everywhere would have figured out how to build up estates through debt.  Sort of like they do sometimes before bankruptcy.

Everyone needs to pay up, it takes A LOT of money to run progressive government. Far be it from a widdow with 5 children to decide what is their ability or need.

So Mr. Marx, are you suggesting that as for her and her brood that whatever it is that they encounter it should call for them being provided for "according to their needs"?  Even if it would require some arbitrary perversion of the standing tax code?

inheritance taxes on small farms is a perversion of what the founding fathers intended, and what made the country great. But then i Don't drink the progressive Kool-Aid.

She would have been well satisfied had the government just left her alone. A concept completely foriegn to progressives.
