Re: Dr. Ron's real supporters?
One guy, the leader of one small movement.
Isn't pining his views by association on a candidate whom he says he supports every bit as disingenious as somene referring to all supporters of the OWS movement as communists because there are a few of them who support it, as numerous people have attempted to do here?
I'm sure that all of us have supported or voted for someone over time who wouldn' t approve of every other person who supported or voted for that same candidate.
I'm quite sure that my fellow Minnesotan Red and I have voted for the same person in some elections and we are often in disagreement on particular issues, yet seem to agree on others.

Re: Dr. Ron's real supporters?
One of the problems that RP just has to accept is that there were random whackos of virtually every stripe attached to the libertarian movement at various times over the years.
But I'm relatively comfortable that a vote for him is the most anarchistic act that anyone has legally avaialble and thus the right thing to do under the current circumstances. I'm 90% sure of that becasue with the massive amount of money on both sides of politics but particuarly this one, some form of chicanery via a triangulation strategy has to always be given consideration.
Ron Paul is a direct affront to the most powerfully entrenched and vicious centers of power. Thus I think the chances that he'll be our next president are about on par with Snoop Doggy Dog but it keeps them busy, spending thier money and showing their hands from time to time.

The powers that be must love sheeple like you GTO! You do make it easy for them.
You do know blacks as a group are much more anti-gay then other races. Millions of blacks supported and voted for Obama. Do you know how all of them feel about gays?

Sorry GTO, but I thought you were aware of balcks views on gays and gay marriages however I understand this is something the Dem party doesn't want to talk about and you will not see it mentioned in your party's talking points. Try Googling it. Here are just a couple of things I found from two separate NPR postings on their web site which I would assume is a site you would trust.
But an increasingly nasty lawsuit against the DNC, brought by Donald Hitchcock after he was fired as the party’s gay and lesbian outreach director, has exposed the rift between gays and one of the party’s most important constituencies, African Americans.
Dr. FRANKLIN: Precisely. I certainly saw, during the last presidential election emails from friends of mine, black clergy who are otherwise thoughtful and judicious and evenhanded people, sort of turned up the rhetoric against picking out the gay community and then picking on them. And I thought that was unusual. It didn't represent what I understand to be the law of love that Jesus calls us to. And so, I think that the black church community, ultimately should declare a moratorium, now, on gay-bashing and mean-spirited rhetoric or aligning ourselves with people who employ mean-spirited rhetoric, and have our own conversation. And bring in biblical scholars and Christian psychiatrists and social workers, and have a real conversation - a village-wide conversation - about the future of black marriages, families, and how we embrace and show love and discipline toward all members of our community, especially so-called non-conformists.
Remember California's Prop 8 that passed in 2008 and stated "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." According to the L.A. Times exit polls two thirds of Californians that described themselves as Christians voted for Prop. 8 while 70% of blacks voted for it.

I agree with you Dag. It's funny that a people that have experenced so much discrimination for so long and they cannot find it in their hearts to tolerate those other people that "different".
BUt then that is not a product of their race but the product of their zeal about religious superiority. If people are concerned about gays and their supposed sins, they could just let God sort them out and mind their own business.
