Nothing was cut. The money was spent on progressive crap like a study to figure out why lesbian are fat. It was lost to waste and fraud.

You should remember how GWB borrowed 800 billion and gave it to big medicine to provide all sorts of goodies for people but never spent a cent on them. They certainly wouldn't bother wasting it on Ebola research etc. and didn't. That was your money he gave them and borrowed it on your behalf and you are still paying for it. You happy with that?

It is far too late for blaming. It was NOT obamas fault for it spread to the US. So settle down all you righties and get some facts into you. Your country is now on the brink of a massive outbreak with that woman flying to Cleveland and spreading it.

Get a grip on yourselves because it is only the government who can do anything about it and especially Obama. Being a enemy of him will not stop it spreading.

Why then do the directors of those agencies say their funds were cut? The cuts started during the bush yrs and have, unfortunately, have continued.

Funding for the NIH since 2004 has been stagnant; $28.03 billion in FY2004, and $29.31 billion last year. That represents a 23 percent loss of purchasing power. The funding gap is even more disturbing for the agency within the NIH that deals most directly with infectious diseases, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, which has been slashed in the past decade from $4.3 billion to $4.25 billion. As Collins said, it's not as if the research community in the U.S. didn't know Ebola was the massive infectious disease crisis that it is—it's been hobbled by Republicans indiscriminately slashing budgets to try to get more tax cuts to the rich.
