I believe there's a backup paper trail.

Maybe standardizing that nationally would be a good thing?

Although as in Bush v. Gore, conducting elections is the Constitutional province of the states, except when it isn't. I'll bet you anything that the 5 Little Popes would find a way to originalist themselves around the precedent of their immediate forebearers.

Hopeful result might be that Steyer and the arguably ascendant Klobuchar survive to fight on wherein the sort of result that was expected might have crippled them.

It does prove a cautionary tale for proponents of ranked choice voting.

Not that it would be that difficult in a standardized and secure national system. Still, another potential avenue to chaos.

National standards for all primaries and elections.

Paper ballots, hand tabulated under the supervision of state officials and kept under lock by judges until final certification. A national standard of penalties for failing to adhere.

If the TV networks have to wait a day for the results they can figure out a way to monetize the additional air time- like the Super Bowl.
