At todays below cop corn prices maybe we should just give it to them.
Ethanol creates a lot of private sector high paying union jobs. Naturally the progressive would be against it. They worship at the alter of Almighty Big Government and anything not coming from their god is not good and must be destroyed.

Re: Ethanol, for it, against it...???...
i`m no fan of what Bruce Rastetter and his ilk done to pork production, but if not him it would`ve been someone else. However the Ag Summit was very productive, each candidate could take time to explain their positions beyond the "sound bite". It wasn`t political, Democrats were invited and they missed a golden opportunity. Like if Elizabeth Warren or Webb were there, they would`ve really shined, the hosts would`ve bent over backwards to appear extra fair to the couple Democrats there and the cameras would`ve been rolling.
I honestly didn`t know about Jim Gilmore, I looked him up and pretty much agree with him...against amnesty, NRA member, pro bio-fuels...conservative.

Re: Ethanol, for it, against it...???...
If I`m a serious contender in politics there would be very few venues that I would pass up to connect with voters. With Governor Walker changing his mind on ethanol...doesn`t his cousin Dale Walker say "A wiseman changes his mind, a fool never"? 🙂
Rand Paul bypassed the Ag Sumitt and is against ethanol mandates, I will still caucus for him. One thing that you have to keep in mind is candidates that forgo Iowa and don`t support ethanol, if they win there will be no hooks in them. Ethanol will have to start from square one winning them over. I support Rand Paul because this country`s problems are bigger than ethanol.

The blenders credit no longer exist. All the blenders credit ever was not taxing ethanol. Only in the US is not taxing something considered a subsidy, but the credit has been gone for a couple of years along with the tariff on imported ethanol.
