The alternative explanation involves a back to blood ingredient. The indigenous urban people voters in these dysfunctional cities are either indifferent or too stupid to grasp the personal consequences of their perpetually loyal Democratic Party line votes. They are then rewarded for their loyalty with more rotten local public schools, dirtier streets, drug addled homelessness, fewer grocery stores & pharmacies, dangerous neighborhoods, and increasingly more segregated and isolated populations.
Think of the mindset as, We don’t care if our mayor, our city councilman, our district prosecutor, our police chief, or our US representative are all incompetent and corrupt SOBs. That is perfectly fine with us, just so long as he, she, or it is going to be OUR incompetent and corrupt SOB...if that makes any sense? (I know, it doesn’t make sense, but it really does in a twisted mindset sort of way.)
