Back at the inauguration I predicted that it would end like the scene in All the King's Men where the folk swarm out of the piney woods and cotton patches to surround the statehouse and support their corrupt populist strongman.
Although that was the '30s, and those pore folks wouldn't have been able to afford top grade military weapons, tac gear, tasers etc. so maybe that's why they didn't breech it.
BTW, Huey Long- the inspiration for Willie Stark- was an actual populist he was deeply hated for taxing the wealthy. And he didn't play the Jim Crow politics of the ruling class. He just concentrated on getting free stuff for His People.
