Farmers, will you get the vaccine?

I'm interested to hear from farmers. When you are eligible (offered) to get the COVID-19 vaccine, will you get it?

If you could offer up why or or why not, it would be interesting to hear your perspective. This week, it was reported that 1 in 4 Americans have said that they would choose not to get it.

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Farmers, will you get the vaccine?

Yes, in my turn.

It is best for my country, community, our local businesses.

At the personal level, everything is a risk reward calculation. I gauge the personal risks as substantially less than the benefit.

Re: Farmers, will you get the vaccine?

I will definitely get it.

Why you ask?  I will ask WHY NOT?

accept science and i hate getting sick so just as I get the flu vaccine every year I will get a Covid vaccine as soon as it is made available to me.

Since I am an old guy I understand I will get the opportunity sooner than many others.

BTW I am Canadian and it will be no cost to me just as the flu vaccine is provided every year at no cost because the flu vaccine has shown to reduce health care costs more than the cost of the free vaccine.

We’re doing pretty well with not going to games, events, church, socializing.

But it will be nice to go without being concerned with spreading the disease to others.

That part is a little tricky- there’s not enough data yet to confirm if vaccinated people can still be carriers. So “normal” may have to wait for broad population immunity.

Re: Yes, but by time they get to me ....

... we'll know whether it's safe and effective.  No, I was in the first cohort to get the polio vaccine so I can appreciate its value.

Re: I wonder though, if .....

If a great many trump supporters who refused to wear masks out of principle will also refuse to get vaccinated, out of principle because we all know the virus "is  just a little flu"  " .

Re: Besides, if 40% refuse, that's a good thing.

With 60%,  we still get our herd immunity and that leaves 128 million doses available for more deserving people elsewhere in the world.

Yes. I'm high risk. And if it is a US vaccine. Not taking some chinese or Canadian knock off.

It`s a 10% chance I`d take the Corona vaccine, that would be if I was going in the hospital for a separate issue.  I`m a germaphobe to begin with, i don`t think I`ve ever hade "the flu" people say "oh, if you had the flu ...you`d know it!".   People are kind of nasty and gross, so even before Covid, I kept my distance.  🙂

5 years from now, after the largest trial in history is complete.

my risk from covid1984 is very slight, and I prefer getting immunity the old fashioned way.

But I'm a very lucky person, blessed with good health.
