Re: Farmers, will you get the vaccine?

Probably.  Because masks don't work, we can't keep "distancing" forever, I'm old, and those in power over others are abusing that power (mandates, lockdowns, etc.).

In my off-farm gig, I meet with people, and distancing isn't very functional to explain and sign off on paperwork.  Some of the folks I meet with are elderly, and I don't want to contribute to their early demise. And, some of the younger folks I meet with have no concern for anyone else.

Have currently been laying low due to a possible exposure last week, and it really messes up my schedule -- met with someone last week, they didn't mention anything about having been sick while I was with them, then after I got home they called me and said they had been sick a few days, had been tested for Covid, and test came back positive.  They said "they would have told me while I was there, but they just received their test results after I left, so called me right away."  Idiots, they could have told me anytime before I met with them, or when I first arrived, that they had been sick and were waiting on test results -- I could have postponed the meeting, done things by mail and email, and could have stayed out of their house.

Re: Farmers, will you get the vaccine?

I have cattle and understand the benefits of vaccs and boosters. When my turn comes up I will get the vac. I had the flu last Feb , was down for 2 days, weak for another two days.  I have too much going on to lose a few days. First time ever this year, got the Flu vacc. Its not a guarantee but is risk management.

Masks do in fact work as a public health measure- they reduce transmission and that has a compounding effect. Ag Forum quality of conflation with the fact that they don’t confer absolute personal protection. Or self absolution for being a butthead and being wrong.

I also would more than likely survive a case fairly well but don’t want to give it to my wife or others.

Freedumb is all about me, me, me.

Re: Farmers, will you get the vaccine?

my risk from covid1984 is very slight

It might be slight but not for sure none.

28 year old with no known health problems in the story in the link and last week a 50 year old dairy farmer in good health died the day after getting a positive test because he had been totally fatigued for a couple days.

Somewhere in the range of 10-50X justtheflu.

You really don't want to get the stuff if you can avoid it. But oh well.

I get all the other shots.  Still got the flu a couple years ago.  But as far a safety goes we should know by the time it's available to me.

It'd be nice to be able to go to visit friends, go to church (if we get a Christian pastor), go to a restaurant and high on my list is going to a hardware store.

If they still get to have gun shows that would be nice to go to also.

Where do you live that someone has kept you from going to the hardware store?

"When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 percent," Fauci said. "Then, when newer surveys said 60 percent or more would take it, I thought, 'I can nudge this up a bit,' so I went to 80, 85."
