Finally good news on colleges campuses
There is hope for our young. May God bless them and their movement.
Baylor University has picked up the torch of Christian revival from Asbury University, hosting 72 hours of continuous prayer and worship this week which led to the baptisms of 20 people.
On the university’s website, Kate Nelson quotes Charles Ramsey explaining the purpose of the meeting, called FM72:
“The purpose of FM72 is to stir a passion for Jesus Christ in the Baylor community,” said Charles Ramsey, director of Baptist Student Ministries at Baylor. “It is a time to take inventory of one’s own journey, to linger in prayer, and to recalibrate towards what is most important: our shared faith in Jesus Christ.”

Re: Finally good news on colleges campuses
Baylor isn’t do8jjg that. A group on campus is. There are more “groups” recognizing darn to near every cause under the sun a nearly every campus, private or public in the country. In every free, democratic country in the world for that matter.
When I attended college in from 67 to 71 at a conservative Church connected liberal arts college there were more student causes and platform groups than you could shake a stick at.
I don’t expect you to believe me but I was well into my first year of fresh off the farm and out of Hooverville High before I first became aware of the mere concept or notion of homosexuality. There was a small group of students who had formed a group and was sponsoring a speaker. I had to ask some of the guys from “the cities” who lived down the hall what that was all about.
This wasn’t “Baylor”. It’s an organized group of Thumpers who go to school there. More power to them.

I didn't say Baylor Bruce Santos. I said something positive was happening on college campuses for a change. I pray there is much more of it in the future.

Will it only be okay with your god or will other gods be welcomed?

Re: Finally good news on colleges campuses
What I said is that there always has been a lot. Always.
Students should be free to join, attend and participate. Outside influencers should be allowed to come in and speak. Students and members of divergent groups should be allowed to protest and counter, as they are able.
You are disagreeing with what you said about Stanford. You want one side only with all in disagreement shunned and extracted if necessary.

It's a great movement isn't it Bruce. Kudos to you again. At least you don't ask which god.

Re: Finally good news on colleges campuses
Why would anyone think it is good for education to try to persuade people to follow an old book full of magic and claims that are outside reality with no proof to back them up?
Seems it would be much better for everyone to teach people to think critically and ignore old tales about claims that are outside reality
