For the "who me worry harharhar" crowd

https://nypost.com/2016/09/22/the-inept-doctor-who-killed-president-garfield/

The doc who killed Pres. Garfield.

There was actually a fair scientific consensus building by then of the germ theory of disease and the importance of antiseptic surgical procedures. This guy didn't believe any of that Fake News.

Having this President direct his own medical care is probably a bigger risk than the underlying case.

But nothing could be more on brand.

Ryan, the Irish head of the WHO/Chicom outfit says, "do not use Dexamethasone except on critically ill patients. It can suppress the immune system."

Someone who is already critically involved has bigger problems than their immune system- they are at imminent risk of drowning in fluid flooding out of the alveoli.

This was a novel virus and the smart guys' first best guess turned out wrong. It isn't like other respiratory diseases, in fact it isn;t exactly even one in the advanced stages. Learning how to manage Covid patients under ventilation has probably cut the mortality rate far more than anything else. In the early stages they were possibly doing more harm than good.

kind of a fascinating story about Dr. Bliss.

also the amazing coincidence of Lincoln's son having been in close proximity to three presidential assassinations.

You are right nQx. Everyone has the right and should question their doctor. Nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion.

Seeking a qualified second opinion is quite a different matter than confirmation bias to soothe your self esteem or just to troll your enemies.

You can always find an outlier to support what you want to believe.
