From Elizabeth Warren

Donald --

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie gave a speech tonight at   the Republican National Convention about the Greatest Generation.

Let's talk about what really made the Greatest Generation so   great.

Coming out of the Great Depression, America was at a   crossroads. The future of our economy -- and our democracy -- was at stake.

We made a decision together as a country: To invest in   ourselves, in our kids, and in our future. For nearly half a century, that's   just what we did.

And it worked. For nearly 50 years, as our country got richer,   our families got richer -- and as our families got richer, our country got   richer.

And then about 30 years ago, our country moved in a different   direction. New leadership attacked wages. They attacked pensions. They   attacked health care. They attacked unions. And now we find ourselves in a   very different world from the one our parents and grandparents built. We are   now in a world in which the rich skim more off the top in taxes and special   deals, and they leave less and less for our schools, for roads and bridges,   for medical and scientific research -- less to build a future.

Tonight, Chris Christie and the Republicans told the American   people that we're   to blame for our broken economy. He told families to tighten their belts. He   told seniors to live on less. He told teachers to stop fighting for fair pay.

He never, ever mentioned how much more the richest have taken,   and he had no mention that those who broke our economy still haven't been   held accountable.

The Republicans believe in an America that is rigged for the   big guys -- giant corporations that can hire an army of lobbyists, ship jobs   overseas, and take their profits to the Cayman Islands.

That's not who we are as a people -- and that's not the kind   of country we want to be.

We built America together, and that's what makes America   great.

Elizabeth

The Indian wants to work together......but she wants to use our money. She needs to go start a business and show us all how easily it's done.

Don, "The Republicans believe in an America that is rigged for the   big guys -- giant corporations that can hire an army of lobbyists, ship jobs   overseas, and take their profits to the Cayman Islands."

Remember Don there are always two sides to a story.

Pelosi Made Millions in Overseas Investments in 2011

President Obama and the Democratic National Committee have been savage against Mitt Romney over his foreign investments, but apparently have forgotten to mention Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

According to her 2011 financial disclosure statement (required for politicians)  she made between one to five million dollars through a group called Matthews International Capitol Management LLC, a group that deals heavily in development and investment in Asian-based companies. The MICM group, according to it’s website, also heavily pushes the advantages of outsourcing. This comes on the heels of recent revelations that Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, the Florida Congresswoman and Chair of the DNC,  has invested significant amounts of money in overseas ventures as well.

The sticking point here is Romney is being attacked over foreign investments while Democratic leaders who invested (and made) even MORE money from these ventures are considered OK.

Another big difference between Romney’s investments and Pelosi’s is that his were with a company that does not regularly market or push for outsourcing of jobs to other countries. As the Daily Caller put it, “Designed in California, Made in Manilla” sounds like the former House Speaker’s investment strategy.   Just another example of hypocracy on the left.

I suppose Tom Harkins $1 million vacation house on the Bahamas which he also rents out part of the year is not considered an overseas investment to fellow Dems?

Re: From Elizabeth Warren

Deliver your argument to Elizabeth Warren. It's her comments you are contesting.

I'll not be voting for Nancy Pelosi.  I'll not be voting for Tom Harkin. I'll not be voting for Debie Wasserman Schultz nor Elizabeth warren.  However i did vote for Elizabeth Warren with my check book and am glad I did.

The Indian is from Oklahoma where many people have at least a smiodgeon of Indian blood. I think her success speaks for itself.

She didn't build that, affirmative action did.

Re: From Elizabeth Warren

Are you trying to say, that beyond 30 years ago, the rich didn't have special deals, and skim money, just to make themselves richer, all with the government's blessing?
