Re: GOP Debate???

Trump n' Cruz Show.

Commentators seem to be split as to which one got the better of it.

Re: GOP Debate???

I thought they all did very well, even the one`s I`m not a fan of.  I lost the FBN internet feed the last 1/2hr but I`ve seen enough of the other debates that there wasn`t too much to miss.

Cruz is making a mistake about "New York values" ...maybe you can think that, but if you`re running for president you can not say that outloud.  And Trump pounced and Cruz teared up and even applauded Donald.

It was expected Jeb would be in attack mode, but he wasn`t, I think someone reminded him that the fix is in and just relax.  Too bad Rand Paul didn`t make the cut.

The Cruz/Trump back and forth is pure theater, like when a couple of our Chihuahuas fight, alot of growling and teeth showing but no one gets hurt.

I'd seen a couple of headlines about the NY n

values thing, but hadn't read or heard much about it until now when I read this:

Didn't realize that Trump had played it so well.

Cruz obviously can't avoid using the dog whistle, and a sideways indictment of Sodom is mandatory to keep the thumper/culturally anal energized.

Picked a bad spot. Some community center up in Sioux or Rock County would have been smarter.

i see that he sold Hortonthewho, so probably worth the lousy publicity.

Trouble is a community center in the boonies saying stuff like that all it take`s is someone with a cell phone recording it and uploading it to social media...they might not be up to nefatious intentions, but once it goes viral the horse is out of the barn. Ask Bruce Braley about his comments about Grassley in what he figured was a friendly audience ...Helloooo Senator Ernst!

The way I look at it, there are good people in every state, every county and every city and someone not believing that shouldn`t run for presidency.  Trump was waiting for that and it was his "You sir are no Jack Kennedy!" moment.  But, look at Regis Philbin, who was born and lives in New York City, there are 10`s of thousands like Regis and who doesn`t love Regis?

Wasn't it governor Cuomo who said conservatives weren't welcome in his state? I guess that's not a dog whistle insult, it's a down right threat.

Re: I'd seen a couple of headlines about the NY n

Erick Erickson would chop off his Mother's leg and cure it and roast it, serve it for Easter dinner and try to pass it off as ham if he thought it could solve the classical Republican Party's big Donald Trump problem.

The powers that be in the GOP don't want Cruz either, but find him somehow preferable to Trump.  The  (highly improbable) long game is to hope for and assisting Cruz to purge them of Trump and then trust the presumedly sane folks to beat him with a Made candidate.

Trump gets that that better than anyone.
