Re: GameStop stock response

What “you guys” are saying “what”?

Crass presumptiousness is a disease.

You’re terminal.

Re: GameStop stock response

Yeah, I guess I "defended" short selling within the context of current- and necessarily evolving- regulations. Although I am certain that current oversight of possible collusions, use of insider info etc. is insufficient.

And I simply said that the phenomenon of mass collusion is new, and will need to be examined.

And back to the only point I really cared to make. This is a late stage manifestation of a speculative mania, whatever the social protest meaning might be to some.

Real 'Murcans unseated by a conspriracy of radical leftists.

Actually unseated via a Dennison hissy fit, but for another day.

Re: Ed must be in the bathroom...

I remember back in the dotcom days when a friend who does a lot of business with schools told me that the teachers lounges were packed full with everybody watching CNBC.

Although that was a good several months before the bubble popped.

Ha.

Growing up in a small town culture filled by a generation  of Great Depression “veterans” I’d like to have  5 bucks for every time I heard someone say, in the event of a noticeable market drop, “they’re just cleaning out the school teachers and the shoe clerks”.

The bucket shops were a key part in that story.

A financial innovation for the common man.

Re: Ed must be in the bathroom...

I see the rich hedge funds win again. Surprise surprise. Squeezing out the hedge fund short sellers is nothing but a little redistribution of wealth. But it is in the wrong direction. Socialist always redistribute from the poor to the rich. They, the socialist, will never allow it to go the other way.
