I’ll double down on my comment elsewhere that this is now more a matter of the pain of option writers than the hedge funds.

But the stick it to the man narrative sounds a lot better.

Re: Ed must be in the bathroom...

Text is eerily familiar.

Did you or someone else here post it in the Fall of 2008?

Dunno.

But I did use to subscribe to Dow Theory Letters, back when Richard was still alive.

$250/yr to have a nice chat with your grandfather every evening.

Re: Ed must be in the bathroom...

Bernard Baruch on how he became so wealthy- "I always sold too soon."

BTW, the very, very, very worst thing you can ever do is miss out on a mania and then jump in late.

I think there's reasonble provenance for the story of how Sir Isaac Newton chided his friends who were all getting rich in the South Seas Bubble but then couldn't take seeing everybody else getting rich any longer and jumped in right before the market collapsed.

His later work was supported by wealthy benefactors.

of course most of history is absent the socialization of risk that the Fed has engaged in for more than a decade and is now all in on.

But I'll remain wary.

You are wrong again Canuck. You inserted your beliefs.
