I'm enjoying the irony of American Sanders supporters lecturing me, a former Soviet citizen, on the glories of Socialism and what it really means! Socialism sounds great in speech soundbites and on Facebook, but please keep it there. In practice, it corrodes not only the economy but the human spirit itself, and the ambition and achievement that made modern capitalism possible and brought billions of people out of poverty. Talking about Socialism is a huge luxury, a luxury that was paid for by the successes of capitalism. Income inequality is a huge problem, absolutely. But the idea that the solution is more government, more regulation, more debt, and less risk is dangerously absurd.

Guys, we know you hate commies and most everything called "socialism" (even though you have been enjoying a lot of socialistic ideas and programs for years) so crack out the books and read the differences between communist socialism and democratic socialism.  You probably still won't like it much because your heroes may not do as well under a true democratic socialism environment and we also all know that you want to protect their billions because, after all they are the job creators but at least you might stop calling the "commies".  Well, Craig won't but maybe the rest of you might!

Yes, books.  Maybe you can learn something.  The system in Russia was and is communist socialism and that is a very far cry from Sen Sanders is. However, you won't find either of those terms anywhere in the govt.  They enacted a constitution in '93 and have elections where the president can serve 2 6 yr terms.  They also have what amounts to the same thing we have with 2 houses in the legislature.  So I guess you guys will have to stop comparing Sanders to the socialists of Russia!!  I still think they are more communists than anything but...
