Genius, sheer genius. Stopping inflation.

Destroy the middle class by taking their savings and income, but it'll stop their buying power so inflation will come under control.  A double benefit to Democrats, make more poor people and take credit for stopping inflation.  Silly people that thought Biden was for the working class and wouldn't tax them or destroy their way of life.  But on the upside you get to laugh at his tweets.

between 78% and 90% of the estimated additional $200 billion the IRS will collect will come from small businesses making less than $200,000 annually.

Just 4% to 9% would come from businesses making north of $500,000 a year — meaning the legislation is in sharp contrast to President Biden’s longstanding claim that he wouldn’t raise taxes on anyone making less than $400,000.

Re: You got a citation for this projection because ...

... that's not what other analyses of organizations like the Tax Foundation are saying.  Sure the IRS tax enforcement provisions are going to collect some taxes from the tax cheats, is that what's got you worried?  Are you afraid they're going to finally catch you?

will end up targeting small business owners to pay for the legislation, according to nonpartisan watchdog the Joint Committee on Taxation.

I am meticulous in record keeping and tax paying, always have been.  What you are alleging is slander.  I suspect that the organization you referenced is a lapdog of the Democrats.  Much like the bumbling non answering VP or White House press secretary.

And my income is so simple now that I can't imagine a way to cheat, other than be like a liberal and just not report any because welfare isn't reported.

My income is strictly public record as far as the government is concerned, bank sends 1099 as does SS and so does renter.

We take no deductions anymore and haven't for years.  Donations are never deducted either.  I don't think my used underwear like Bill Clinton's is really a donation of value.

Re: Genius, sheer genius. Stopping inflation.

Politicians have been adding "IRS Collections" to bills for what 50 years now? saying that it will help pay for their spending and not increase the deficit, never has worked and it won't work here.....other than adding some more government jobs.

Just like the claim that the hypocrat bill will plug loop holes for the rich like the rich won't create other loopholes.

Enough of the gullibility from the taxpayer.

On a side note, how's the old crook & pariah lois lerner?  The good old days when hypocrats were in favor of contempt of congress.

Re: Given where it comes from ...

...  nobody would be surprised at the negative slant but they are definitely overstating the case.  First, the Joint Committee is a republican mouthpiece, so what do you expect?  Second, the increases for the $30,000-$100,000 income levels are all under 1%, and third, you'll all be happy to know that those with incomes less than $10,000  will get a whooping 1.3% tax increase, more than the $100-$200 K level.

The truth is always in the details.
