Re: Glen Greenwald--- Progressives and the Ron Paul fallacies

I did not mean to imply that Ron Paul equals Barry Goldwater. I thought my meaning was clear...the democrats would get the guns out to smear Ron Paul in the same fashion that they smeared Goldwater...a vote for Goldwater meant nuclear war and the end of civilization because Goldwater was a crazy warhawk....this time around, a vote for Ron Paul means a nuclear Iran, and a nuclear Iran means the end of civilization.

You are right, Goldwater was ahead of my time but from what I have read about him, he was pretty libertarian in that he did not believe the government should be intruding into the private lives of US Citizens.

Re: Glen Greenwald--- Progressives and the Ron Paul fallacies

well Bruce, if you or your wife have not inherited property, and if you have not had any type of government job in your life, I stand corrected. I have to admit that I did contract work for a government type entity for five years once, and learned a lot about how government worked, or rather, doesn't work. People that actually were getting government wages were mad at me cause I worked hard and they said I made them look bad. They had their sick pay, their vacation pay, and their holiday pay. Good for them.

You said that both you and your wife paid the maximum in social security taxes in one post. That would mean that you made about $106,500 each in today's dollars. Maybe you meant something different than that. I am just going on what you wrote in a post. Again, maybe I need to be corrected.

You just don't seem to me to be one of us that has worked with free market economics for your life. Your lense seems to be one of a government worker.

Re: Glen Greenwald--- Progressives and the Ron Paul fallacies

I've got my own problems with conjecturing and fantacisms at times, as we all do in order to rationalize or seek justification for ourselves and how we feel others should be in comparisom to wherever it is that we've elevated or lowered ourselves, but I don't believe I've never come to where I've actually set out to fabricate a persona and life story for another individual who I didn't even know personally.

And even then........

Pal, you do it all the time...do I need to go back and resurrect some of the posts where you told me my background? They were pretty hilarious. Even the part about my ethnic origins.
