Global climate change

There was an interest program on last night about the end of old egypt and why the builders of the pyramids and the most advanced civilization of it's day vanished  some 4000 years ago.

Through much research of geology they took soil samples and determined that egypt prospered as long as the nile flooded annually and deposited soil from ethiopia. The soil samples mindicated that drought hit some 4000 years ago and lasted as much as 100 years determined by the sand deposits at that partidular lever. Most of the middle east was stricken and soil cores even from under the seas confirmed the same evidence.

Much of norther africa was ahighly productive ecosystem with green and lush climate. howwver the drought affected the ocean currents and the loop through nortern europe sqelched precipitation through out turkey and the lands east of the mediterranian.

So that is what killed off the majority of the old progressive egyptians. They ;literally starved to death. asthey crowded toward the nile basin while the river shrunk in capacity.

In teresting show if you get a chance top see it.

You seem to be exceptionally challenged by chronolgy.  Islam was formed in the 6o0s  Muhammed died in 632.  2400 years after the period don says was studied in the documentary.

The Egyptians.  2400 and then some years before there was such a thing as Islam.  Long, long before Muhammed was a twinkle in Our Father's eye.

Maybe it's not so much Isalm, but rather, simply "other".  Look up "orientalism".

Re: Global climate change

I remember reading that the Nile once had 7 channels that flooded the land and made it a very    productive area.

Egypt controlled much of the area then right through to the Euphraties river.

As with all empires they fell into decline but maybe the changes in climate and especially the Nile which only has 2 channels now, I think, led to a lack of food to feed an empire.

That whole story is quite interesting if you care to research it.

There just is no evidence of

a) any army being 'buried in the Red Sea'

b) any mass migration of millions of people for '40 years'

c) no evidence that the biblical tale matches history from that time period

d) contradictory conclusions of just when this all took place

The net is that the Israelites being driven from Egypt is as believable as the Egyptian army being drowned in the Red Sea.

Re: trace it a bit

From what i remember of the early books of Old Testament the world as it was seen and experienced by the writers  was Jewish.  Recall no mention of something called Islam.

Again, chapters and verses please.
