I don`t know what advice I would give the Republicans. You had Ron Paul that would vote against tax increases and spending increases, but in a way he was a tricky old fart.  He could do that because he was only one out of 435.  The rest would pass the farm bills, take us to war, raise taxes but crazy ol` Ron would vote "Nyet" his constituents back in Texas kept sending him back to congress, but the other 434 members of congress had a farm bill for them.  Guess my point is if one or 2 members of congress are Kamikazes, that`s tolerable in our system, but more than that and all heck would break loose.

The way I look at defunding 0bamacare is, I`m okay with shutting down the government, however you have to realize that I`m half or 3/4ths nuts, I caucused for Ron Paul here in Iowa. 

To the Republicans, I guess I would give the same advice that a mother is given about oxygen masks on a aeroplane "put the mask on yourself first, before your child, because you`ll do them no good if you`re dead".  In other word 0bamacare was passed (in a crooked way but it did pass) Chief Justice Robert`s court called 0bamacare a "tax" to save it, even though to get it passed it "wasn`t a tax".   The final nail in America`s coffin was November 6th 2012 when voters re-elected 0bama, if they really didn`t want 0bamacare, that was their last chance to get rid of it.

If Republicans muddle around too much, they will get the blame when 0bamacare fails.  the Democrats didn`t stand in Bush #43`s way on the wars, they gave him enough rope to hang himself with it.

I just don`t see how Republicans will ever win the whitehouse again anyway, the demographics have changed too much.  If the Dems nominate a boring candidate like Hillary for 2016, maybe the Repubs stand a chance, but still this country is in such terrible shape there`s nothing could be done in the alotted 4 years.

I think local governemt is what needs to be preserved.  I see Northern Colorado is going to bring a vote to split the state in 2 (a liberal half and a more conservative half) perhaps that`s where energies should be focused.  Have a strong local government in place for when the bloated federal gov explodes like a 2 week old dead bloated cow in the 100º heat.

North Colorado will have to live under Obama care too. The repubs need to just not fund it and if Obama feels the need to shut the government down because of that then so be it. If it cost the repubs the election what difference does it make, why be there if all they want to do is spend money to get elected. Let the professional do that.

Hey 3020, since the good guys only control the House, we have to carefully choose what "hills that we want to die on".   If we defund 0bamacare, is that something that the senate has to go along with?  But the media is against us, if it came to a shut down, 0bama would come on tv with tears in his eyes saying "it`s more important that they deny 39 million Americans their healthcare enough that they shut down the government to do it. The US will get a lower credit rating, interest will go up, national debt will go up ...blah blah blah".  

Ideally, we make the case to the American people that 0bamacare should be repealed, then hold the the House and win back the Senate in 2014. But the Dems are tricky, changing a passed law so that the negative affects aren`t felt before the 2014 election, there has to be a stink raised to high heaven about that!

But this is the problem that this country has right now, there are too many freeloaders that will vote for any Democrats whose trousers are urine stained, all to get access to other people`s money.  I`m really afraid that this country has to hit rock bottom before any healing can take place.   However I`m a conspiracy theorist and believe that hitting rock bottom was the goal all along and that`s when the masks will be ripped off the Democrats and it will be revealed that they are truly communists.  And the "land reform" and "wealth redistribution" will then began in earnst, that is when the ol` .30-06 is needed.   🙂

BA, you post some good stuff, but I would caution you about posting too much anymore on any online places about fighting land reform or other efforts to curtail private property rights.

We seem to be going full speed into an alternative reality where we are living in the United States of South Africa. You just cannot believe what is going to happen next...everytime I have a bad dream, and wake up, I open the papers and the dreams are reality.

All I can say is that I really love America, and am proud of all our elected officials. We truly are blessed to have such a good government.

You cannot defund Obama care. If you deny the funds they will be found elsewhere and your favorite program will be defunded.

You cannot hold the president hostage with the debt ceiling. He will not play that game. If you choose not to raise it he will find the funds out of the military budget or elsewhere to make the debt payments. Congress will be sent home without pay checks. Imagine that.

You Mel gibson fans ought to recall his flick ransom and it is pretty hard to threaten someone that refuses to respond as you wish. I like the games you play though. The pipe dreams the hyperventilation about the massive change to communism as opposed to corporate fascism.

Mostly I hear puny little men trying their best to demonize the president of the United States  while they foolishly step in line behind TED Cruz and the republican looney bin.

In the end Obama care will survive, Obama will survive and Miss Hillary will rise to power and you will find you are dancing with worthy opponent. One not weak and naive. You will be dancing with wolves and she will eat your sorry butt for lunch! lol.

One of my landlords said that about a neighbor...this old fart was going on about Hill, and how awesome she was, and beautiful too. THis was back in the 1980's and someone corrected him. He said, Pal, I have been to the fund raisers, been up close to Hillary, and I hate to break it to you, but that is one ugly sow.

Everytime you have one of those posts, I am reminded of John Candy in the movie Volunteers, where he is running around in his underwear after being brainwashed by the commies, and yelling out Mao slogans.

Having said that, if Hillary is our next president, I am going to admire him.

Your first two paragraphs advocate the president ignore the constitution. Do you wish to continue an imperial presidency? If the law doesn't apply to those in charge no one should feel compelled to follow it.

Isn't it funny how someones intense dislike for other impacts the physical attributes that person might have. I Don't know your parents and have never seen them that I know. But  your folks have one ugly son, ugly clear to the bone and it's obvious without ever having a glimpse at your face.

A nasty personality that attacks a persons appearence which is not of ones own doing. Ican't help if I am gorgious and neither can Hillary. We look like who we are. Niether one of us are spring chickens at this stage in our lives. Whether you see anything attractive about either one of us is of no importance.

But your nasty attitude exhibits a real ugliness about you. Ugliness of character which trumps most any physical flaw and you are not going to grow out of it.

The presidents job is to run the givernment. If congress attempts to stymie that effort he has no choice.

No one should expect the president to beheld hostage by anyone. BTW congress spent the money and they have a responsibility to generate the revenues to pay for it.
