Deporting, or even isolating, those with whom we disagree should not even jokingly be considered. That said, the immigration system, including "temporary" status applications, have been incredibly abused for several decades, with the past decade or two being the worst. We've tried amnesty, we've tried deportations, we've tried other enforcement measures, we've tried strengthening the border, changes to eligibility, changes to how different groups are treated, etc. -- in the long run, none of it works without addressing all of it together, and enforcing all of it. Short of "manifest destiny" moving southward, it's really not realistic to assume that we can "fix" the foreign causes, nor is it fair to the US taxpayers. Regarding those with whom we disagree -- elections have consequences, and there will be more elections -- irrespective of political affiliation, those in power need to be held accountable for their actions, especially those acting under false pretenses, achieving excessive personal benefits at the expense of taxpayers (directly or indirectly), or amassing excessive and/or unchecked power relative to the intended authority which has been granted or delegated to them.
