He also has the support of hamas.

A leader of the Hamas terror group yesterday jumped into the emotional debate on the plan to construct a mosque near Ground Zero -- insisting Muslims "have to build" it there.

"We have to build everywhere," said Mahmoud al-Zahar, a co-founder of Hamas and the organization's chief on the Gaza Strip.

"In every area we have, [as] Muslim[s], we have to pray, and this mosque is the only site of prayer," he said on "Aaron Klein Investigative Radio" on WABC.

"We have to build the mosque, as you are allowed to build the church and Israelis are building their holy places."'WE HAVE TO PRAY': Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf (inset) got support from Hamas co-founder Mahmoud al-Zahar (above left, with Gaza political leader Ismail Haniyeh), who spoke on WABC Radio yesterday in favor of Rauf's proposal to build an Islamic center in this downtown location two blocks from Ground Zero.

Hamas, he added, "is representing the vast majority of the Arabic and Islamic world -- especially the Islamic side."

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who so far has not taken a position on the mosque, dismissed the endorsement.

"Hamas is a terrorist organization, and their views don't deserve any weight on anything," his spokesman said.

Zahar said Muslims around the world, including those who live in this country, are united in a common cause.

"First of all, we have to address that we are different as people, as a nation, totally different," he said.

"We already are living under the tradition of Islam.

"Islam is controlling every source of our life as regard to marriage, divorce, our commercial relationships," Zahar said.

"Even the Islamic people or the Muslims in your country, they are living now in the tradition of Islam. They are fasting; they are praying."

Politicians who previously had lots to say on the matter were not nearly as eager to discuss the latest development.

There certainly are a lot of liars distorting the Truth.  The WHOLE Truth and NOTHING but the Truth--- anything else is a lie---anything which decieves.   The parrot masters sure have you sheep and chickens wound up.  Look at the scum making political hay with Islamophobia---Nut Gingrich and Surely Palin, the GOP will not win anything but voter contempt with those two.

I understand that those Islamists hide under beds and in dark closets, be very careful, be very afraid.

Re: 'Ground Zero Mosque' Imam Helped FBI With Counterterrorism Efforts

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Huffington_Post

is a liberal/progressive American news website and aggregated blog founded by Arianna Huffington

She met oil millionaire Michael Huffington, a family friend of the Bushes, at a 1985 party hosted by Ann Getty in San Francisco. The couple was married in 1986 at a wedding paid for by Getty, who had declared that she needed to find Arianna a husband. They moved to Washington, D.C., when he was appointed to serve as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Negotiations Policy. They later established residency in Santa Barbara, California, in order for him to run in 1992 as a Republican for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, which he won by a significant margin. He was a political conservative on most issues. Arianna campaigned for her husband, courting religious conservatives, arguing for smaller government and a reduction in welfare. In 1994 he narrowly lost the race for the U.S. Senate seat from California to incumbent Dianne Feinstein.[6]

The couple divorced in 1997, and in 1998 Michael Huffington revealed that he was bisexual.[7] The financial terms of their divorce agreement remain undisclosed. Arianna Huffington chose to retain her former husband's surname, although she had been known as Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington during the period of her marriage.[citation

Hmmmm changed her tune after a bitter divorce.  Was it you who posted on the nature of a woman scorned?

New anecdotes to share?

Re: 'Ground Zero Mosque' Imam Helped FBI With Counterterrorism Efforts

So, what does Huffington's devorce have to do with the information in that article?  Maybe Micheal Huffington participates in your towel parties?  He is bisexual.  No really what does this have to do with the Iman?

Re: 'Ground Zero Mosque' Imam Helped FBI With Counterterrorism Efforts

Couldn't find a more reliable news source than that?  See if you can find someone other than them and maybe I'll  believe it.  So tell me John did he tell on people he thought were countering terrorism, ?  Did he report on hate crimes against muslims or did he report on muslims who commited terrorist acts.  Cause I don't see just what his help entailed?

And John, your saying the Imam has nothing but goodness for all in his heart, and it must be true cause Arrianas said so. Get your news from someone with no agenda John.
