Re: Hardnox, Tell me why the planes were used on 9-11?
Hey Nox, everytime I go to the "911 denyer" sites and click around a bit. What I`ve noticed is they appear to be a front for pro Islam, many times anti Christian, always anti Republican. Now I think there are some legitimate questions on the denyer side that need to be asked and answered, just don`t get in bed with those with a unsavory agenda.

Re: Not the plane impact nox, but the insuing fire
Fire that brought it down.
"The additional problem was distortion of the steel in the fire. The temperature of the fire was not uniform everywhere, and the temperature on the outside of the box columns was clearly lower than on the side facing the fire. The temperature along the 18 m long joists was certainly not uniform. Given the thermal expansion of steel, a 150°C temperature difference from one location to another will produce yield-level residual stresses. This produced distortions in the slender structural steel, which resulted in buckling failures. Thus, the failure of the steel was due to two factors: loss of strength due to the temperature of the fire, and loss of structural integrity due to distortion of the steel from the non-uniform temperatures in the fire"

Here's a story about another blockade running ship headed for Gaza, I'm sure they are anti-semites by your confused concept. snip-- set sail on Sunday for Gaza, hoping to breach Israel's blockade there and deliver aid.

These are great moderate peace keepers, just like the moderate muslim Canadian congress that don't support the middle finger mosque at ground zero.

Re: Not nox, but I can answer that and I am not a terrorist
I have some questions with the 9-11 Commission finding as well but have serious doubts about any preplanned conspiracy. If the WTC was secretly rigged to implode then I have to wonder if after flight 93 crashed in rural Pennsylvania if there were some secretly set explosives in the White House or the Capital that needed to be quickly and quietly removed after the conspiracy plan went awry.
My main problem with the 9-11 Commission is having Jamie Gorelick as a member of the commission after she erected the "wall" that barred anti-terror investigators from accessing the computer of Zacarias Moussaoui, the 20th hijacker, already in custody on an immigration violation. Then having the Commission ignore this important detail.
"A 1995 Department of Justice memorandum states that the procedures her memorandum put in place for the investigation of the first WTC bombing "go beyond what is legally required...[to] prevent any risk of creating an unwarranted appearance that FISA is being used to avoid procedural safeguards which would apply in a criminal investigation." The wall intentionally exceeded the requirements of FISA for the purposes of criminal investigations, as well as the then-existing federal case law. These rules were, shortly after their creation, expanded to regulate such communications in future counter-terrorism investigations."
For some reason Gorelick seems untouchable by Dems and even Repubs. It puzles me how she seemed unscathed after helping oversee a $10 billion accounting scandal at Fannie Mae that helped cover up $9 billion in losses which resulted in Gorelick, Raines and three other executives at Fannie getting 6 and 7 figure bonuses in 1998. I hear Dems always complaining about executives in private business being grossly over paid compared to the Average Joe but never hear many complaints about Gorelick receiving more then $26.5 million for serving as vice chairwoman at Fannie Mae for 6 years while the books were cooked and enormous losses were concealed. Gorelick in an interveiw with Business Week said, "We believe we are managed safely. We are very pleased that Moody's gave us an A-minus in the area of bank financial strength -- without a reference to the government in any way. Fannie Mae is among the handful of top-quality institutions." One year later the improper accounting and the $9 billion in losses were exposed.
Even more puzzling is that Gorelick was appointed as second in charge of Fannie at such a high salary when she had no previous training nor experience in finance. I'm wondering if she had something on Bill to help get her this job.

My guess is Bill appointed her in hopes that in the future she would have some thing "on him".

Yup, just anuther one of them coinkidinkers.
Like the fact that on that day FEMA and the air defense system just happened to be unavaialble because they were involved in an exercise involving the tracking of multiple hijackings on that day.
Which is, by the way, in and of itself more than enough cause to reopen an investigation.
Kean and Hamilton later wrote that they considered filing perjury charges against NORAD and FAA officials who they felt clearly contradicted themselves and each other in the investigation.
But they didn't, and I assume that they took the money for the book.

Re: Not the plane impact nox, but the insuing fire
"Slender" is the key word to hone in on. What does that mean and why is it there?
Robust, massive seem much more accurate adjectives.
BTW, if you're looking for the definitve excuse study on the towers it is probably the "Purdue Report."
It was done by some Purdue engineers as a computer simulation to try to figure out some way the collapses could have happened and came out which a scenario about fuel flooding down stairwells, etc. etc.
A bit of background- Martin Jischke was president of Purdue at the time and is a totally political, duplicitous money grubbing SOB- that is to say a perfect university president.
He snagged the Homeland Security Institute for Purdue, big federal bucks. Purdue later delivered a very nice technical report.
FWIW, h

Sorta silly, really.
I think that Purdue ought to be kicked out of the Big Ten and replaced with Rose-Hulman.
