Just driving around the area, I see no Hildebeest signs anywhere. A few Bernie signs, a dozen or so Trump signs, two Cruz, two Carson , no Bush, No Christie, and no Rubio.
I am really amazed at how many "Reagan Demoçrats" are supporting Trump. And, on the bus, a lot of the high school kids like Trump.
Hillary won't give up easy, and might start talking about "where the bodies are buried" if she thinks that Zero is double-crossing her. Yes, I do think the dem "brand" is damaged, greatly.

Re: Hillary getting whomped in Iowa and NH
I pulled a young man`s car out of the ditch this afternoon, he had a Bernie bumpersticker, I just smiled but we got his car out fine and he thanked me really well...good young man, he`ll get smart one day. But I turned around the pickup and by the time I got home he was at my front door putting Bernie propaganda in our door, he said he was campaigning in the country for Sanders and asked if I`d be interested in caucussing for Bernie. I smiled and said no, but my Wife might.
But if they are sending college kids out for Bernie around here, they are thoroughly canvassing the area.

What was it John Lennon said? Something about the end of white rule? Don't be surprised if Michelle gets into the race.

Re: Hillary getting whomped in Iowa and NH
Of course realistically speaking my opinions and efforts will have no impact on the outcome, it will be what it will.
But I'm modestly pleased with the situation so far. Taking the polls as they currently are, a Bernie near landslide in the general would still probably yield, at best, half a dozen senate seats leaving that body a seat or two one way or the other and in the house maybe 20- still a republican majority. Although it will certainly be framed otherwise he'll not have the capacity to impose a socialist agenda.
Probably a one termer in these perilous times anyway, and given that things aren;t likely to be good during the first two of any administration that is elected, he probably doesn't even hold that in the midterm.
One benefit of Bernie is that he's in the unique position to keep Israel at arm's length although expect that the Israel Lobby will come at him hard. Even though he'd probably get a huge majority of the Jewish vote (not that it matters much) the money guys will fight him tooth and nail both in the primary and the general- mostly among the christianists.
It is impossible to know for certain what will be best for our troubled republic as it enters an historic crisis. My fear, that I think is reasonable in the light of facts, is that a hard right supermajority will fail by any of the metrics that are typically used as measure but will nevertheless double down to try to make sure minority rule is permanerntly enshrined. Which would leave us either in a death spiral or facing a more profound convulsion. Not the preferred outcome for Burkeian conservatives.

Re: Hillary getting whomped in Iowa and NH
From a Burkeian point of view there is collective wisdom instilled in how we got here.
Thus the changes that we went through since say, 1932, and more since 1964 are legitimate even if we are still suffering heartburn from digesting them. If we want to change them we do so incrementally, through the legislative process or through the intentionally more laborious process of amending the Constitution.
You don't get to pick a period, say 1787, 1860 or 1928 and go back.
But you do just reach points like the 1850s where people just want to fight. Lincoln is the guide there, I think. When it comes to this the Union must be preserved.

Re: Hillary getting whomped in Iowa and NH
Is a "reagan democrat" one who voted for Reagan? If so, then you can count me---the first term anyway. I saw the error of my way before the 2nd term and have never looked back. The kids on your bus only think what daddy says at the dinner table!! Since a lot of people here are doing predictions lately, I predict that if trump gets somehow elected, the world will come to very hot flash of light end before the end of 4 years as the jerk will start a world war that will have everyone nuke everyone else!! He will undo every good thing that all the previous presidents have ever done since the beginning of the Union!!!!

Re: Hillary getting whomped in Iowa and NH
I assume that the polls that indicate Rubio faring better than Trump or Cruz against either of the Dems indicates some of the same in the opposite direction.
The RINOs are less vocal than your "Reagan Dems" but also an interesting part of the strange skew to this.
If Rubio is the best the establishment has it is going to be Trump, Cruz, or Civil War.
