I wonder if they also think that  Reagan cooked democratic babies in an oven and ate them with Nancy.

Re: How Reagan Killed Babies: The fourth Blind mouse Speaks up

"A Harvard School of Public Health study cited the WIC program as a measure that markedly reduced the incidents of low-birth-weight babies. A separate study by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health found that infant mortality rates were one-third lower among WIC children when compared to infants in similar circumstances that were not getting assistance. When Reagan took office, there were 2.3 million people being served by WIC, with tens of thousands more languishing on waiting lists or turned away because there wasn't enough money to help them. The Administration's first blow at the program was a 1981 proposal to cut WIC by 30 percent. Congress, which the Children's Defense Fund says considers WIC 'one of the most effective programs run by the federal government,' rejected the Reagan cut."

"Undaunted, the Administration bypassed Congress and encouraged some states to cut their WIC programs. This resulted in 200,000 people being removed from the program in fiscal 1981--while $60 million in WIC money remained unspent. Congress ordered the Reagan Administration to reinstate the removed women, infants and children, and to serve as many people as possible. But by August of 1982, five states had run out of funds, while 25 states had unused money. By law, the Department of Agriculture must shift funds to needed areas, but it refused to do so. After a federal judge ruled that the Administration's refusal was illegal, the 200,000 people were placed back in the program, and funds were used to prevent program cutbacks in the five states."

"Congress and the courts stopped the Administration from gutting the WIC program, but yet another effort was made: the 1984 budget proposal kept WIC funding at the same level as the year before--$1.09 billion--with no increase for inflation. As food prices go up, an estimated 115,000 people could be dropped from the program. There are about the same member of WIC recipients now as when Reagan took office."

"IN SHORT, the federal program most successfully alleviating hunger, sickness and death among infants and young children has been subjected to an unrelenting and at times illegal attack by the Reagan Administration."

Prolly not although it is a well documented fact that Ronnie ran a lot of nose candy during those heady Iran Contra days.

When the SJ Mercury News ranGary Webb's  Dark Alliance series it was deny, discredit, ridicule.

Then ten years later when everyone had forgotten, the CIA inspector General, when faced with undeniable evidence, admitted to everything and more. But after ten years and the original deep sixing nobody cared.

Poor Gary was so depressed about the destruction of his career that he shot himself in the face with a shotgun. Twice.

No0w that is what you call determination. Shooting yourself twice in the head with a shotgun.

Very much so, but not near the effort it took for Vince Foster to get his shoes cleaned up in the middle of a muddy park before he shot himself, cleaned the powder stains off his hands, and also bent his forearm to get the odd angle of entry.

These suicide victims really have a lot of determination to get it all right.

Even Marilyn Monroe showed a lot of pluck when she was able to get the suppositories in place even while drunk.

And lets not even talk about all the young women that were jumping out of buildings and blowing their brains out for Adolf Hitler.

THose ancient Romans never seemed to have all those suicides. If Julius Ceasar had lived today, he would certainly have shot himself instead of goading on his senate to do the deed.

Re: How Reagan Killed Babies: The fourth Blind mouse Speaks up

That is why I'm 100% serious about what I refer to as the Bush/Clinton organized crime family.

As to Reagan, it is hard to tell. There seems to be evidence that most of the dark ops were more connected to VP Bush's office and highly compartmentalized. Since it was going on during his watch it doesn't exonerate Reagn but it's an interesting thing to consider and will probably never be known.

There is also a whole lot of context there- it was immediately post-watergate and Vietnam and you could argue that the Boland Amendment might have gone to far in prohibiting aid to the Central America. But Ollie North and the cowboys got very creative in financing the contras anyway.

Everyone should read the Dark Alliance series that I linked. Another great piece of journalism that got buried and ridiculed, and where Clinton shows up is the "Crimes of Mena" by Roger Denton and Sally Morris. A common thread between the two is basically that the mainstream media wouldn't run them and joined in with the establishment in trying to discredit them- not so much with facts but with condescension and ridicule which works just as well.
