How about FOX and Roger Ailes

The G.O.P.’s Convention was like a four-day Fox News fest, full of fearmongering, demagoguery, xenophobia, pandering, and raw anger.

Now I have to ask:

Is Roger Ailes a reflection of what Republicans in America are like in general today?  Those in a place of power that have no bounds? 

Here's a guy that had the reigns the most Republican network in the nation for a long time.  Like Rush, and the other hate filled Republican talking heads, is this what the power Republicans hoped to emulate?   And how has this guys thoughts and wishes shaped and now destroyed the Republican Party?   

Here's another staunch, God fearing Republican.    And another scandal that could cost Fox news a bundle.....I can only hope so.

I didn't ask about the Clintons. Every interview I watch, no matter what network it's on or who it is, tries to turn it back somehow to the Clintons.

You guys can keep spinning this all you want. The truth about your Republican organization is coming out. I do thank Mr Trump for that. Your damage control is going to have to be a lot more than simply spinning this thing to the left. There are real problems in the Republican Party. You guys had better wake up, the ship is sinking, and simply turning it around isn't going to seal the hole...

While the world has certainly changed over the course of Ailes' apparent 50 year career as a sex harasser, I don't think that's 100% of what caught up with him either.

An additional factor is failure to realize when you've become a truly repulsive old codger and it is just too much of an insult for them victim to bear.

This guy  comes from a deeply embedded culture of unquestioned patriarchy.  

No real distinction to be made between his cleric, the local Sandusky figure or Roger Ailes.

It's quite clear rape is not high on your list of objectional offenses. Did Rodger Ailes do anything Hillary Clinton didn't cover for when it is to her advantage?

I personally never saw Bill Clinton accused of rape.  Your mention of it is the first that I have heard, which is why I didn't say anything.  I don't know.  If I get some time, I'll research it.  

But again - you guys are crossing a fine line here.  I can say that OJ was guilty of killing his wife, but - he was exonerated by a group of his peers.  His murder CONVICTION DOESN'T EXIST!!!!

I never saw Bill Clinton being accused of it, and I watch news channels A LOT.  If I didn't see it - it probably doesn't exist.  Could I have missed it - sure.  Which is why I didn't rebuttle the accusation until I knew for sure.  But a story like that would've gone on for a long time.

I don't tend to shoot from the hip like a lot of others on this forum do.  I try to do my homework first....If I'm wrong, like the other day, I will readily admit it.  But, I'm not wrong very often....

Nope - can't say that I have.  But I've said that I had a severe head injury in 2009 ro 2010.  If it was before that time, it is probably gone.  Heck, Obama had just been elected, and I was asked during a test who the President was - didn't know.  Who the former President was - didn't know, but I told the gal that I knew I didn't like him very much.  That would've been of course GW.

Those that have followed me over the years, know about the injury - I've always been very up front with it.  Heck - I couldn't walk a straight line for nearly a year.  When I worked at Syngenta, I got turned in at least a couple of times because someone thought that I was drunk or on something.

But I will check it out.
