Re: How about it JR?

Santorum has the Christian/traditionalist thing going on.  In my caucus anyway he obviously took away from Perry who only got a piddly 3 votes, he also took away from Paul.  I know for a fact that I changed 20 Democrats into Republicans tonight, now conventional wisdom would say that they were "mischief makers/Paul supporters", well Paul got 9 votes so I think they were just unhappy with 0bama and want a say in who they want to replace him in November.  My Pastor and Wife caucused for 0bama in `08, I thought they were Democrats, but they were with us Repubs tonight and I didn`t sign them up, they must have done that earlier.  I would guess there was 30-50% more than previous caucuses, excellent January weather.  No mischief makers, no one frothing at the mouth, alot of younger voters that are very versed in the Constitution went we were voting on platform planks, everyone was extremely concentrated on November.  I am pleased and optimistic about the future.  Oh yeah, Huntsman got 1 vote.

I do.  Santorum comes from a hard working coal mining family that knows what hard work is.  He knows how to reach out to the Reagan Democrats that have been sold a bill of goods by the Liberal Elite.  Santorum went out and met with any Iowan who wanted to meet him.  He spent time with each voter.  He did not look around the room while someone was talking with him.... his listened and responded to each person.

I will bet that he personally met with more than half of those who voted for him.   Something about him said that he was a real person that knows how to pull himself up by the bootstraps.  Is he perfect, nope, but he is a danmed sight better than the community organizer (i.e. Communist)   Folks sense that and relate to him.

Re: How about it JR?

Lincoln Township, the largest township in the State of Iowa, in area and population.  Second largest precinct in Warren County went like this....

Bachmann     9

Gingrich        31

Huntsman      1

Paul               39

Perry              25

Romney         30

Santorum    45

It looks like Perry is going to drop out, Bachmann is going to have a press conference in a few minutes here in Iowa.

If their supporters get behind Santorum, he will be very powerful.   It looks like Newt Gingrich is going to act as battle axe on Romney from here on out. Which will grind down on Romney going into the Southern Battlefields.
