Re: How are we going to fund government

Just in case you find someone to explain it, the federal deficit is different than the National debt.  The deficit increased around $600 Billion the debt did increase by $1.4 Trillion.  Talk to your Congress because it doesn't belong to the democrats!!!

Re: How are we going to fund government

MMT (modern monetary theory) states that a country with a sovereign currency doesn't need to tax in order to fund its operations- it can create as mch money as it chooses to.

Taxes fall more along the lines of social policy- the fact that a free republic can't endure when wealth reaches some degree of concentration, particularly across generations. Fostering a rentier class is like asking for lice.

It is the practical matter that the ancient hebrews addressed with the concept of a jubilee. You have to periodically relieve people of their debt burdens (which is held as wealth in the opposite side of the transaction).

Of course lacking for Moses and the Prophets to issue such a dictate, that idea tends not to be popular among anyone who even holds the hope to set his progeny up, or take some with him.

Re: How are we going to fund government

Hell the other Donald is expected to make his public. The left is even trying to hang him for 20+ year old tax filings all the while the same sort of efforts by Clinton did just last year go by with out a word. Who really are the radicals now?

Re: How are we going to fund government

OKDon is NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT OF THE US.  Trump is.  Sorry, but his life is an open book - one he chose when he opted to run for president.  He can try and keep the book closed, but guess what?  Little things will creep in there now and then.

Trump keeps coming back to that fact that he filed his financial paperwork.  That was all that was required.  We all have had to do financial summaries for the bank.  We all also know that we can put on those whatever we choose to.  No one looks over your shoulder to see if they are complete, or accurate.  In short, his financial disclosure really is - worthless.

He claims he didn't cheat on the taxes.  OK....but someone must think there is something there to look at, since, according to him, he has been audited since the beginning of time.  Maybe there is a reason that he is being audited.....and since the audits aren't complete, can he really say that his accountants and tax attorneys are the masters that he claims they are?  If he gets elected, maybe we'll have the first president that will need to step down because he's indited of fraud.  He doesn't seem to be concerned that he's being audited.  "It's just a standard audit."  I personally don't think you can say that any audits are "standard", and if any one of us got a letter that said we were being audited by the IRS, especially one that would go back 7 - 10 years like his apparently are, would give us all a cause for concern.  But, I guess when your a liar and cheat like him, you can't let the little things affect how you do business.  And it's just business, right?

LOL, you can't be serious. And if you are serious, they probably wont let you vote anyway.

Re: How are we going to fund government

Again the rules for those on the left are different. I assume you did everything you say Trump did wrong. You lost your farm and you probably filed bankruptcy to save what little you had left. You probably also used every tax deduction you could as a result of your failure. Just why is it all of you liberals think you are something special?

We all pay more income tax than Trump

Look at it in this perspective: A person working a part time job at minimum wage paid more in income taxes in one year than Trump did over the last decade. We all paid more than he did.

I don't even qualify for deductions.

Re: We all pay more income tax than Trump

What about the 3/4 million Clinton claimed to have lost last year so she wouldn't pay taxes? I am betting Trump has paid in far more than her over the last 30 years.
