Re: ok, Go at it....Why not Venezuela?

Looks like you really don't want to take up the mantle and defend the most socialistic countries afterall....so I take it

that you are not a big supporter of Hugo Chavez afterall, eh?

As far as business investment from all over the world pouring into the capitalistic USA...are you going to call the

president a liar?????

here is the whitehouse report

https://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/docs/winning_business_investment_in_the_united_states...

You know, for all of his political correctness and for supporting the job killing Obamacare, the skinny negro has

actually left the engines of America success alone for eight years and not totally idled them like a Bernie Sanders

would.

Knapper, you must be the one that tunes out Shifty, Nuts, Goat, etal when they

post about the glories of socialism.

I would agree with your post, just common sense there to pay for common

public services.

That is not socialism, but paying for public services. Better do some more

research on the socialism views of Bernie Sanders.

so·cial·ism
ˈsōSHəˌlizəm/
noun

  1. a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

I didn't write a single word about Bernie Sanders. I merely wrote about Socialist institutions and processes in our nation and explained that they do not have to be a bad thing. Public services like locks and dams that are built by the government and paid for by the people and regulated by a representative government of the people are indeed the very definition of Socialism. You can't simply limit the definition of Socialism to welfare or social programs for the people. The point is that some Socialist programs are indeed very good for all of us. Your task as a voter is to figure out which ones you support and which ones you don't.

Re: ok, Go at it....Why not Venezuela?

So you think elementry schooling for every 5 year old is foolish as well? Did that equate to the hammer and sickle as well? I think the problem is understanding definitions, While public schools may be a socialist activity, in no way does it equate to a socialist or communist government.

Like a football or basketball team working toward a common goal.  To the extent of their playing together usually provides a better result. The affordable care act would work better with a higher participation. Thus the repubs took it as a political loss and could only prove it not so by any method.

Knapper is dpoing an excelleent job of trying to inform you. Hopefully you will give his words more thought. I wonder why you accept FSA checks because like th affordable care act your objective is to reduce the heavy hand of governement on our wonderous capitalistic system. We can't afford medicare for all yet somehow you expect the general public to self insure for such occasions. At large the american society cannot afford health care for but indivually they can. Thats a puzzler unless you expect the masses to accept death panels like if you don't have the money you die!

some socialists like to drink milk...

..that doesn`t mean that everyone that likes to drink milk is a socialist or if you sit next to a girl you`ll get cooties.   It isn`t so much that a K through 12 education or interstate highways or rural electrification or social security or even FSA payments are 'socialist", but rather many socialists happen to favor those programs AND foolishly want to EXPAND them.    Bernie`s free college is so damned stupid...the colleges are already bursting at the seams.  If 100% of 18yr olds got free college and had no incentive to get out of bed the next 4yrs until they are 22...it would obviously be a hell of a mess.

We have people today with college degrees that can only get a hamburger flipping job...what the hell do we want even more PhD`s that are cleaning toilets?????   If a kid wants to go to college and has too poor of grades or can`t dunk a basketball....you know they can do "jobs that Americans won`t do" part time and in the summers to pay for college...that`s what our parents and grandparents did.

*as for me saying that "we shouldn`t send 5year olds to elementary school"...I don`t know where you came up with that one. Smiley Frustrated

Re: some socialists like to drink milk...

If Shifty wants a higher particpation rate in the affordable care program, he actually can opt out of medicare and pay his own premium too.

Or send $30,000 a year to me to defray my premium and deductible...I will take his moldy money. I'm not proud.

The glories of socialism?????? Because someone posts about taking care of people, college students not having to pay most of the rest of their lives paying off college debt, etc is NOT "the glories of socialism".  Those things actually belong to what America should be and not what the repubs want and are doing all around the country now by numerous states!

Knapp and Don,  Quit trying to enlighten these fools.  They don't mind "socialism" as long as it is the parts they like.  They jump on key words and paint everything they don't like with that word.  No need trying to argue with them.  They want to start their little revolution shoot them some blacks and other non- Muricans and a few of those golldanged queers--before they get blown to hell!!

Where, exactly, is that specified in the United States Constitution?

On the otherhand, I can find what you seek in the Marx/Engles Communist Manifesto.

We (all of us) have paid into Medicare since we started working and we also pay a premium each month out of SS.  Shove it!!
