How old?

What does age do for leadership?

It has been noted that leaders of the 3 parties that had any chance of forming government in our election last fall are all in their 40ies.

Ages of those seeking your presidency are all in their 70ies or older? except of course Pete.

Sign of the times ??

Re: How old?

Not entirely to your point, but.....

There will be a huge "leadership" hole in the GOP after Dennison that will make the Dem situation where The Clintons refused to move along look small.

The role of cult leader is not transferable* unless you happen to think that Ivanka, Jared, Don Jr. have any legs- which I find too preposterous to consider- but you never know these days.

All the Cult lickspittles will be tied to these times and a shrinking demographic forever.

*why there was nowhere else to turn other than the sons for Falwell, Graham. Of course I'm a Methodist and we keep our preachers itinerant so as to not form personality cults.

Re: How old?

Speaking of Methodists, which I imagine isn't really that much of interest to you.

Our denomination has been torn asunder over LGBTQ issues. Even though it was later determined that the "conservatives" committed vote fraud, the damage is done.

In the background- nihilistic operatives like Presidential lawyer Sekulow ($65M laundered from the GOP) who were sent to take down any Christian denominations that were mildly "liberal".

It is personal to me.

Of course we committed a huge error by re-admitting the Confederate Methodists in 1939.

Re: How old?

The deed was accomplished by Sekulow and other nihilistic operatives stirring up the African and Asian jurisdictions, where they aren't real woke on the topic.

But when it became apparent that they had put a substantial amount of the funding they receive from US churches at risk they're, "hey, can't we work this out?"

To no one's surprise the US "conservative" minority will be the ones leaving and they tend more to the Real 'Murcan "God helps those who help themselves" point of view.

I assume that the remaining church will continue to support them to some degree but at a proportionately lower level.

We do have a bunch of old fogies running:       Ages of Trump - 73; Warren - 70; Biden - 77; Sanders - 78.

It does appear to be a sign of the times however as the average age of Presidents at the start of their Presidency from JFK to Trump (11 Presidents) = 56 (age not including days).  Average age for all 45 Presidents = 55.  (If my quick adding is correct?) I figured a lot of the early President's average age would be lower.

Re: How old?

Can't get them to move out of Mommy's house these days until they are 30 +. So getting a little experience for the job takes them to a older age before they can handle it.

Re: How old?

For one thing there`s the 35 year old requirement to be president, that automatically raises the age.  And it takes money, if you go to the "wine cave" to ask Gates, Zuckerberg, Bezos and Tom Steyer (when he isn`t running) they want to see experience before they pull out the checkbook.  Ideally you do a stint in the military, college, law school, then move up ranks in state government.  Maybe have a US senate seat in your background or if you are a governor then you can tout "executive experience".   All those "accomplishments" take time, you about have to be in your 60s even if you are a over achiever to check most of the boxes.

Lately though there are some that want to skip steps and run from a House seat or mayor seat hoping their darker skin tone or homosexuality gives them a "free pass" so they give it a shot in their 40s.

As a voter it`s kind of funny when you get to the age that you`re older than the oldest football player, it hits you that you`re aging.  Then about the last gasp of feeling young, you usually can say "well, at least I`m younger than the president!"   🙂   Voters (so far anyway) seem to want a older president no matter what side of the aisle you`re on.   I`d be happy with young Ben Shapiro in the White House, but it`s rare that someone that young has their sh*t together.

That`ll be the next liberal gimmick to lower the voting age to 12 and presidential age requirement of 18, while raising the drinking age to 25.   US president too young to legally have a beer  🙂  shouldn`t laugh, it could happen.

Re: How old?

Will we have a first man of a Mr. President? I think not. You have to be mentally defective to even be in that situation so how can you take on the job as President.

Re: How old?

So you think anyone who is in a same gender relationship is mentally ill?

Can you show where medical people think that is true?

i know that years ago people just believed that, mostly based on old religious superstitions and bigotry but medicine has determined that just like in other animals it is a natural occurrence
