  I like how a friend of ours that owns the resort where we own a couple of cabins in TN puts it: Beyond the scenery and all, the BEST part of the South, is US, because they'd still be fighting over some pig and crappin' in the woods!

Charlie Rangel keeps getting reelected because he is loved by the people in his district. Much like our Chuck Grassley will be reelected to the senate for two terms after he is dead.

Charlie Rangel had a position of power and influence in the congress and was greatly able to help his district. Chuck Grassley has been successful in doing nothing ever since he has been in congress.

I hear that argument about "being the only one not taking subsidies" all the time on here.  How does that shoot you in the foot?  I never had an elevator operator ask me if I was in the farm program or not.  Does one get more money there than the one not in it?  Sure you would have more money if you are in it but how does that put the other fellow at a disadvantage?  Also, we have gun control now.  Do you want every jerk on the street carrying AK47s going full auto whenever he wishes?  Most of the states in the country already have CCW laws on the books.  Every time you buy a gun, it becomes registered some way.  At least every handgun is fired by the manufacturer and the slug is kept on file with the serial number for that gun.  NO ONE is going to take away your guns.  Gay Marriage?  What do you care?  Does it harm you in any way?  I don't get it.  They don't take anything away from you and they don't hurt you.
