Re: The Christian Taliban
You really stretch it don't you? America is targeting Islamic terrorists because they have been killing our citizens and soldiers for decades. Civilian casualties are a very unfortunate side of war. There would be alot less of it if the terrorists would come out and fight like men intead of shooting from a mosque or a house full of women and children or walking into a bus or a crowded market with a bomb strapped to their body. I am not aware of many Christians who use those means to ensure that those left standing convert to Christianity or face the same fate. Apparently you are?
I don't know of any organized religious effort to make this country a theocracy. That's pure lunacy on your part.
I have no problem with our money just the way it is. In fact, since you feel like those words are an infringement on your rights, send it to me. I'll take that vile, offensive stuff off your hands. On the birth control, maybe there is a move to curtail spending by limiting what is provided to a young girl. You have way more time to research such important issues so I could be wrong. I think the Catholic church might have some objections to be forced to provide it at some of their private hospitals. I think that's more of an abortion issue. Last time I was in a public health unit, the jar outside the receptionists window was full of free condoms though.
And lastly, you are right. I don't give a *bleep* what you think, not because my God is right but because you are always so wrong and hypocritical. "Tyranny of the majority exactly like in Islamic countries"......what a crock.

Re: The Christian Taliban
My point is that there is alot more Muslims out there willing to kill or be killed in the name of their religion than there are Christians. I agree that there are a very few so called Christians who might have some warped belief that killing is justified in some cases but that's far more accepted in Islam than Christianity. There are several Muslim countries that live by Sharia law and areas within other countries that are under the same standard. You would be hard pressed to find whole countries that are forced to live under laws straight out of the old testament of Christian faith, where people have to eat fish on Fridays as Kraft t says. Saying that modern day Christianity and modern day Islam are virtually the same is like saying Obama and Rush Limbaugh are really twins.

Re: The Christian Taliban
Some of the things mentioned are more traditions of a certain branch of Christianity, than the actual teachings of the Bible. The no fish on Friday, being a prime example. My great-grandmother was descended of people who were very close with Church leadership, and there were a lot of 'fishy' things going on in the NAME of Christianity, but may not have truly been Christian things.
A few stories handed down through the generations (just stories I have no way of verifying, but they sound at least plausable) were:
Many of the early Church leaders/members were fishermen, and they were looking out for their own business, and got a Fish on Friday rule passed.
Another story has to do with how the Catholic Church got so rich. In times of war, and during the Crusades, in particular, it was thought you had to pray for forgiveness of your sins, but if you were a knight/nobelman or someone with money, you could HIRE priests to pray on your behalf, which kept a very steady flow of money (mostly gold from what I hear) coming into the coffers.
Personally, I like the point of view of the leaders of my church.
If the Bible is for it, be for it.
If the Bible is against it, be against it.
If the Bible has no opinion, use your best judgement, but don't go blathering on that God wants this, or doesn't want that.
IMHO, anything more than this, is stuff that got added over time for one reason or another, or possibly is more a tradition than doctrine.

"America is targeting Islamic terrorists because they have been killing our citizens and soldiers for decades."
Guess you are ignorant of the history of what the Europeans and since the "40's the USA has been doing to citizens of Africa and Asia, particularly those nations who have resources which criminal bassturds want to steal or buy at low prices under coercion, or it's inconvenient to your spiel to recognize reality. Those people who are fighting back with the tactics they have because they have been killed by foreign powers and their governments corrupted and taken over and replaced with brutal dictators supported by the above mentioned criminals. Modern terrorism was originated by the zionists in Palestine during the '20's, 30's and 40's. Bombing buses, car bombs, bombing hotels and cafes markets and any place numbers of civilians gathered. Read about it,you can use search engines can't you, if you really wanted to know what is loess.
As far as them fighting against the most advanced killing machines yet devised man to man is really a very stupid evaluation of reality. When people supported by the USA and accomplices use "terrorist" tactics it's politely called guerilla warfare.

@cotman03 wrote:I don't remember the KKK being a Christian movement. In fact, they hated the Catholic church. They also would occasionally bomb a church so calling them Christian is flat out wrong. You pretty much can live your life any way you choose in this country regardless of religious concerns.
Bombing churches has been done by christians before. Don't think that stops them from being christian.

Re: The Christian Taliban
John, not a day goes by when a bunch of muslims don't kill a bunch of muslims. No one hates muslims more than muslims. Give muslims money and instead of feeding their poor they will use it to buy arms so they can kill muslims.

Re: The Christian Taliban
Reality is a relative term these days. You have yours. I have mine. I think mine is much closer to mainstream than yours. You will say I'm one of the sheeple. Coming from you I can live with that.

" Reality is relative--" No doubt about it, you have been dumbed down and completely vulnerable to brainwashing. You could help yourself though if you have the will.
