I wonder if anyone else

Looks at the mess in Iraq, syria and the middle east discord and compares it to the political discord in america. The right, the left, the capitalists, the socialists, the armed, the disarmed, the disfunctional government the haters and the hated, the christians, the compassionate folks, the haves and the have less. It just seems we have so much discord in our country, with some folks threatening to take up arms against fellow americans. Are we really all that much different than they are?

Welcome to the New World Order. When you finally realize what is going down, it kinda knocks the wind out of you. Now, what are you going to do about it? You are probably too old to worry about it, but you family isn't.

Again I think Kraft worte a good post, but look at the optics of it, how can a country with capitalist and socialist occupying the same area function and get anything done. The split is just too wide now between the parties.

What we have going on now is nothing in comparison to what is to come.

Re: Good post

It won't be easy. From this point of view albeit biased, I think we have to start respecting election results. After the electoral war, we need to assume that the elected people have to govern. Which means your focus from political gains and losses must change to make america the best country it can be with the political division that exists.

Which means we use our utmost power of persuasion to pass legislation that can be agreed upon, without a constant war of political infighting. Compromise is not a dirty word for anyone that appreciates a democratic republic. Elections mean things and the elected majority has the advantage.

However, the present minority thinks that obstruction is the way to play the game. Obstruct the oppositions progress while demonising the opposition and their voter support. The goal being that you will win the majority by making everyone hate the incumbants, the president, the voters that supported them. This is political warfare 24/7/365/ for 8 years or more. Aren't you getting a bit weary of it?

Stop hating those who believe in God might be a good start.

Re: I wonder if anyone else

I don't hate people that beleive in God. I don't hate anyone. I don't want to pay for their religion. I don't want them to intrude in government or using religion as avalid excuse to influence legislation.

If I beleive in the easter bunny and said it's against the easter bunny's law to allow gun ownership.  You would ridicule me off the planet. Yet that is exactly what you religious types do is demand that we accept your easter bunny as someone we should care about or what he thinks.
