Yes the people wanted something done about the ever increasing cost of their health insurance.    Bait and switched that one.

A very significant majority "wanted it".  "It" being comprehensive health care and insurance reform.  With all of the drama and the poliitcal rhetoric and the roll out problems it is true that just slight less than 50% now support "it", "it" being the Bill that 3020 and the rest of us got.  All a matter of how you frame the statement.

And as stated often, a certain and likely significant portion of those (I'd be one) who don't support the Bill we got don't do so because they/we deem it to be highly insufficient and consists of only very modest reforms. and is tilted hard to the players who needed reforming.

It is competition that delivers a quality product at an affordable price. Not a government monopoly with a mandate.

What has changed?  The competition and the industries that engage in it are still/left in place.

The purpose of the reform effort was to get everybody covered.  And now that is what the IRS is being charged with assuring.

I agree. It could have been done better, but then the better it had been done the more you'd disapprove. Or then, maybe not, if it had been done or done better by what you'd hold to be "proper folks".

What has changed is 1965 and the war on poverty. That priced health care out of reach for working middle class Americans. The wage caps during WW2 was also a huge blow to competition when companies offered "free" health care to attact empolyees. People became comfortable for someone else picking up the tap. There was no need to search for the best deal.

Aw he!! 30.  Why not just pick an earlier arbitray date.  Shoot.. let's try 1491, when all of the health care needs in this land were attended to by The Medicine Man.

You can't solve a problem when you refuse to face the problem. The problem is not enough people are in charge of their own bill.

3020, trying to argue with a moron is akin to wrestling with a pig....you are not going to win, and the moron/pig actually likes it.

As soon as someone says "single payor", the word "moron" flashes across their tagline. Well, at least in a perfect world it  would. These clowns don't even have a big enough perspective to understand what they are even saying.

Are you saying then that you are philosophically  opposed to the concept of insurance?  Cash for itemized  care and treatment, across the board?

No. I'm for choice.
