Ice destroys homes - anti-global warming?
As many as 20 homes & cabins were damaged or destroyed there...literally crushed or ripped from foundations as an immense 27 foot high wall of ice grinded ashore Friday night.

Rename "global warming" to "climate change" in order to account for giant glaciers moving into residential areas, which is the opposite of warming.
Oh and take note that it's mid-May.

What does wind blown ice off a lake have to do with global warming, climate change, glaciers(giant even)? You're not serious are you?

Re: Ice destroys homes - spring break up?
snip--Aerial footage shot above a frozen reservoir in Canada shows an ice floe surging for miles through the Codette reservoir. The video, taken during an aerial inspection of the river by a Canadian environment agency, shows the ice breaking up at the edges of the surge. It then piles up nearly three metres in the air. The agency said the surge was caused by ice melting for long stretches upstream along the Saskatchewan river http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/video/2013/may/13/ice-frozen-reservoir-canada-video

Re: Ice destroys homes - spring break up?
I remember something similar being in the local news last year, I think, about ice coming off Lake Superior in Michigan and creeping pretty close to houses.

Re: Ice destroys homes - anti-global warming?
Today in Nebraska:
Dannebrog, NE Tuesday 5/14/13 - 3:00 PM Clear 101°F | °C Precipitation: 10% Humidity: 12% Wind: 17 mph
If your example is valid to prove or disprove anything, then by logic, the above is just as valid to prove or disprove the same.
Oh...and take note it is only mid May.

Re: Ice destroys homes - anti-global warming?
Global warming was changed to climate change several years ago. Which planet have you been living on. The things that are happening on our planet have been made more adverse by the degrading of our climate by many of the activities of mankind whether you like it or not.

Re: Ice destroys homes - spring break up?
Most of the ice shown in cb's pic i was due to high winds pushing the ice up and out of the lake onto land.
