Re: If Democrats suddenly are concerned debt

Already explained -- if the Chinese retaliatory tariffs effectively knocked $x off the farmer's bean price, and he gets reimbursed for that from US government, the farmer is still paying taxes on that income he would have otherwise had, AND the farmer as a consumer is also paying extra for a washing machine, or anything else from China due to US tariffs, just like the guy in town.  Just because someone is a farmer does not also mean they are not also a consumer, just like everyone else.  And, I also have a low-paying job, so what's your point.  That typical guy in town doesn't need to invest hundreds of thousands in capital to do his job, drives vehicles newer than mine, has a 401K, probably has employer-provided or sponsored health insurance, rents an apartment or house, has 3 kids, and often pays no real estate taxes, which are used to support our roads, bridges, schools, libraries, hospital, etc., so who is the socialist?  And, even if he does own his house in town, and pays real estate taxes, most farmers also own their houses and pay real estate taxes on that asset at same rate per value as guy in town, in addition to the real estate taxes paid on farm land.

I thought you supported socialism.

Re: If Democrats suddenly are concerned debt

Sounds easy to just start farming unless of course you have little or no capital.

How does a person start farming without assets and capital?

And BTW if you are paying rent you are paying real estate taxes as part of your rent.

No doubt about it farmers are quite wealthy or else they would not have land worth $$$$$ and machinery to farm it worth more $$$$$ and capital to buy the seed, fertilizer and chemicals to grow the crops.

It is true that wealthy farmers are getting socialist payments that come from the large % of tax payers that are not farmers.

And the farmer will only pay a very small % of any money they make in taxes so they have a net gain of most of the socialist farm payments while the consumer in town has to pay the extra $100 for their washing machine as well as cover the socialist payment to those rich farmers.

I thought farming was so financially lucrative? I thought farming automatically equals becoming a millionaire?  Which is it? Make up your mind.

FSA makes 100% loans, a $ million + loan limits; add in those socialist payments, repayment is a cake walk  -  right?

No excuses.

I thought you supported socialism. Now you make it sound like the only ones who benefit from socialism are the rich.

Re: If Democrats suddenly are concerned debt

3020 you did not say that correctly.

What you should do is ask 'why is it the rich get socialist payments that are paid for by the middle income and poor people?'

Re: If Democrats suddenly are concerned debt

Because that's how socialism works. And the more socialism you have the fewer the rich and the more of the poor.

Re: If Democrats suddenly are concerned debt

Yes 3020 I can see how there are more poor when they have to pay socialist payments to the rich but why would that cause fewer rich?

It would seem to help rich people stay rich all on the backs of the poor and middle income

I guess that is the way with capitalism, when there is a little time with poor income they just get the government to bail them out, even when it is their own faulty policies that caused the poor income.

Re: If Democrats suddenly are concerned debt

Because when the poor have nothing left the socialist raise the bar on who is rich. They will continue to transfer from the bottom to the top. Those rich farmers will one day be the targets.

Re: If Democrats suddenly are concerned debt

But the question was and is, Why do those rich farmers deserve money from the poor NOW?

Why are they not being good capitalists and making their money themselves instead of draining those who do not have resources now?

If you are so against this socialism why are you not lining up to stop these socialist payments?
