If Trump is consistent

He’ll do what he’s done at EPA, CFPB, Interior etc. and push out and replace whomever it is at FDA who is doing and publicizing this research:

Re: If Trump is consistent

I’ve been thinking about getting rr sweet corn just to add that glyphosate flavor to it. I am a glyphosate fan because I think of the poisons we used to use in it’s place. However I will always hate Monsanto for their heavy hand over a product they built on the foundation of publicly funded university research

Re: If Trump is consistent

Iwe we’re visiting friends in Columbia a couple of years back. He (a U of Mo ag grad) told me to hop in the car as he wanted me to see something. We went to campus and as he drove by a low brown brick building pointed to a window and said “That’s where they came up with it before they gave it to Monsanto”.

Re: If Trump is consistent

It is still selective.

Glyphosate according to that article is the active ingredient  in hundreds of widely used herbicides. Really, hundreds?

Then I am not sure there is any definite research that glyphosate is carcinogenic.

Some studies indicate the additives (surfactants?) in it might be the carcinogenic compound.

But of course all those who are against any glyphosate anywhere at any time will go home and enjoy some wine taken directly into their bodies in copious amounts and ALL alcohol is definitely carcinogenic.

People just like to believe in things and to heck with science and common sense.

Re: If Trump is consistent

I am not sure the email says what the "guardian" writer claims  ..... or tries to infer ...... or whether those are texts from plant production that has been exposed to roundup.... The article says very little about the actual testing process  or selection process.....

I'll wait for the FDA published version..... and will read the actual description of research... and not take the word of someone who draws precincieved conclusions from no research at all.    And in this case an activist who has a history of such creative publishing.

An opinion on the author from an independent source without ties to the herbicide industry.

Re: If Trump is consistent

During the Vietnam war they used 2,4,5-T as a defoliant. Not 2,4,5-D or glyphosate. Different chemicals have different toxicity’s as well as carcinogenic and/or mutagenic effects. Plants produce some of the same type of compounds naturally. Often these natural compounds are more toxic or carcinogenic as human synthesized ones. Some chemicals are rather benign. Tordon for example passes through the human body rapidly, which is good. Chemicals that stay in the body and get trapped in fat cells are more problematic.

Re: If Trump is consistent

You had me at the headline: If Trump is consistent.

ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha...it’s like asking if Hillary is honest, if Bobby Mueller is unbiased, if Jim Comey/John Brennan/James Clapper can be trusted, if Barack Obama is a constitutional scholar, or even if either Bill Clinton or Donald Trump is monogamous.

Of course not, in each and every case.
