If you don't want your religion criticized
Stop using your religion to stipulate logic for legislation. We don't give a **bleep** what your scripture says or what you believe. It simply does not qualify as a logical reason for anything. Just as buddism and hinduism does not persuade you to vote one way or another.
I know, I know you have a vision of making the american people subserviant unto the lord. But america is not God's country. It beleongs to us regardless of what we believe. It is our choice and i won't listen to you anymore than I would listen to a allatolah.
We don't share your faith and why should we tolerate your insistanc. We give you tax breaks to promote you religion but you insist on using the public schools and public properties to advance your faith. I don't think it is in americans interest to promote your religion.
Even the use of this forum is an example of christian over stepping their bounds. I surprised the meredith company tolerates it. You certainly wouldn't be doing it on Kraft Publishing.

We don't think old men need to be in the same restroom as young girls.

Re: If you don't want your religion criticized
Thats your mistake in that you believe that religion make society better. It does not. Over the centuries we have historical evidence of religious wars all over the world and usually on a continuous basis.
The fact is that human beings are quite capable of deciding what is socially acceptable. You don't believe that a society on the edge of ignorance cannot decide that it is better if they don't steal from each other and killing your neighbor is not conducive to civil society. You see I beleive that human nature and conscience as well as human logic cn conclud3e what a civil society requires. Abd we don't need a bible or a torah to tell us that.
What is about religious people or religious groups that makes you think they are superior intellectually/ There in lies the problem in that you think you are superior to most of the humsn race and that is quite common amongs the churchies. They think that they alone should be in control. After all your doing god's work and who can argue with that. Just those of us that are unwilling to accept your God, Netanyahus God Mao's god, Hiro hito's god, Ghandi's god, Alletollahs god. You understand that you may find many gods that are bogus in your understanding. Why don't you allow us the same option. That we do not have to beieve in your god.

Re: If you don't want your religion criticized
Don, as long as you are the liberal that you claim to be on here and this isn`t some academic exercise, I would fully expect you to critize the Christian religion, if you didn`t I would be afraid that it would be a watered down false religion.
We live in a secular world "give onto Ceasar" and such, however that secular world needs to respect those of the Christian faith that live within that world. Such as, don`t force people of faith to celebrate the abominations of God.
