Re: Bush-lite

I think overall he has done as good a job with what he had to work with as any man could have.  And, if you don't vote, I hope you have the decency to not come on here and start b!tching about whoever is president.

I'll second that motion!

Re: Interesting article for Democrats only- President as Piñata

EVerybody is for long term efforts to balance the budget, But why do you think that would get him elected? Or get him any more votes than yours (Ha!...You've got 50 inherent, natural, winged reasons not to vote for him before you even get to economic s or budgets) and a few other guys.

Re: Bush-lite

Don't you just love censorship? You two can't silence Craig so you'll try and intimidate me?

Sad.

Re: Bush-lite

I'm not trying to intimidate anyone.  I truly hope that anyone who doesn't vote in an election doesn't come on here or anywhere else and bitch about the winner.  They won't have a dog in the hunt so shouldn't  complain.

Re: Bush-lite

Who said anything about silencing, you or Craigo? You and the intellecual one can come here and shoot your mouths off all you want! I don't care, EXCEPT, when you whine baby about the winner, you'd better have some skin in the game, VOTE.

Where is the evidence of that Bruce? What dem has offered a budget that cuts a single penny from the spending side? It is fiscal responsibility that has won in the last 3 elections. If Obama runs on a budget of steep spending cuts with modest tax increases he wins.

Re: Interesting article for Democrats only- President as Piñata

I was agreeing to the poster that said if he would submit a bill, that balanced the Federal budget, that would include more spending cuts than tax increases, he would almost surely win the next election.
Heck, if he would submit such a thing, and champion it, to get it to pass, I think I would even vote for him.  All it would need is $1 more in spending cuts, than tax increases, and I just might.

Sadly, he probably won't, and I'll have to decide between him, and whatever flies out of the GOP nest.  I hope that the GOP nominee will be someone who wins on issues, and not just the best mud-slinger.  In a sense Obama has it easier, as he doesn't have to go through all that.

I might argue that WE are the boss.  Ultimately, whoever is President, will be so, because he (or she) got the support of the most people.  Without the votes, they are boss of nothing.

Re: Bush-lite

My biggest gripe so far would be too much spending, but to really be fair, spending bills originate in the House of Reps, and about all the Pres can do is sign or veto it.  However, he can champion his position, and he seemed not all that enthused about doing that.

Clinton, love him or hate him, I thought was pretty good at 'selling' his point of view, to get what he wanted..  Obama seems to more just wait it out first, and then say what he likes or doesn't like.
