Re: Is Old man alright or just busy!

sorry I think if you can't get your point across without being abrasive or insulting it shows a lack of intelligence or confidence in what you are saying.

I try not to get insulting but think I don't always succeed

There you go again. What gives you a mortgage on assessing people's intelligence? You place yourself in such a santamonious position, well above the hoi polloi, to the point your warm inner glow type assessments of us all become irrelevant.

Don't lecture me about what how I should write. It is my politics which irritates you and it is your aloof arrogance which irritates me.

Re: Is Old man alright or just busy!

Well said dairy mom.

When anyone resorts to name calling it is a sure sign they have no good arguments left.

When the name calling begins it means they have lost the argument.

Good manners mean they will present facts and evidence to support their opinion when they turn to name calling they show more than poor manners.

Re: Is Old man alright or just busy!

So Canuck, if a atheist calls the Holy Bible a "fairytale book" and calls thee God "gods god whatever"....that person has lost the discussion? Why yes, yes I believe I would agree with that 😉

I know Dairy Mom has qualified her outrage about name calling by saying she "usually doesn't call names" and good for her because calling someone "white trash" seemed pretty easy for her the other day. But to have all this feigned outrage, me thinks these liberals don't see the log in their own eye and are just upset that their world view has no basis and its obviously brought out on this page each day.

But all the evidence says that it is a fairy tale book so why would you think that is bad language?

BTW, which god are you referring to?

Smiley Very Happy too funny Canuck, you're just being silly. But in all seriousness the only 3 on here that are nice and decent and would be the only ones with a legitimate gripe about the other's nastiness on here are HuskerJ, 3020 and Man of Steel. The rest of us are rotten as hell.  🙂

Re: Is Old man alright or just busy!

That is YOUR OPINION, Canuck and I am very sure that you defined your opinion accurately. However its very abrasive to the 80 some % of Americans that profess Christianity as their faith. You probably don't offend "liberal" Christians becausebecause their liberalism trumps Christianity as their god. You also have a god whether or not you admit it Canuck, and that god is liberalism.

Re: Is Old man alright or just busy!

But my opinion is backed by facts and evidence.

Just because lots of farmers think the markest will go up does not make it true.

Just because a majority thinks the bible is not a book full of fairy tales does not make it so either.

The truth is the stories in the bible are fiction, feel good stories, bedtime stories but not based in reality.

Sometimes the truth is 'abrasive' to people who have not really thought about what they 'believe' but it is still the truth.

Check out the accepted definition for 'god' and it will say something about a supernatural being  which has super natural powers with the ability to control the world and everything in it.

So by definition I have no god(s) that I believe in.

I stick to reality.
