Is it true that country people are more apt to believe in supernatural things?
Are country people more superstitious than city folk?
Hollywood, TV and books have given me the impression that country bumpkins are often apt to believe in witches, ghosts and things that go bump in the night. They thrive on the paranormal and old-fashioned legends and scorn city slickers for not believing their stories.

No I dont think so. Your country's majority still berlieve there is a god so we have to get them over that first. As a rule there is a lot of uneducated farmers of a certain age bracket that feel their longevity has given them knowledge of everything. The grandchildren always sit with mouths open when grandad tells them those spooky stories and it is sometimes used to control them, same as religion really. It wouldnt surprise me if most of the dumb cockies still believe those things simply because they have never been exposed to anything else.

Are you talking about things like a ball player who doesn't shave his beard or wash his jersey while on a winning streak or things like setting fence post in the dark of the moon?

Re: Is it true that country people are more apt to believe in supernatural things?
Lots of people 'believe' in a magical being tht is in charge of everything but does not control anything, that has been claimed to exist for thousands of years but has never been shown to exist, that is beyond the material and is unexplainable and uncomprehendable by those of us who actually exist so yes a lot more rural people are more superstitious.
You do have to remember though that 80 some % of those polled think that all foods containing DNA should be labeled, the same % that think foods with GMO's should be labelled so that says a lot of people being polled do not know ................ from ............
Hopefully more will be critical thinkers and know the truth in the future.
