I remember growing up when there was one America....both political parties believed in capitalism, freedom, the basic tenets of Christianity, sanctity of human life, etc. The political debate was at the fringes.....how much of a safety net should there be?, not a guaranteed income and free healthcare, free housing, free phones and TV, free food, etc.
Shooting wars against communists were common, and today voters are electing them instead. Private property is under assault by people that don't own anything except what they have gathered through the spoils of the election process.
