Re: Just for the record

Hi James,

My point being, if we have a bunch of conservatives who have been "energized" by a bunch of irrational, emottoinal mush, do you think that the main feature is going to be better?

Re: Just for the record

Hey Nox, if you insert the word "Democrat" in the place of "Conservatives" in your post...You describe exactly how Obama was elected. I saw the inner workings of how Obama pulled it off. My Wife and friends are Democrats, she recieved more calls from the Obama campaign than any other candidate and they weren`t just quick reminder calls but 20 min chats talking about what they majored in college. Everything except what all this "Obama change" would entail. Obama was "all in" betting the farm on us Iowa rubes.....it was a good bet....I appologize on behalf of my state, should have done they`re homework. Interest in the Tea Party and people actually reading the Constitution shows Republicans are doing their homework.

Re: Just for the record

Sorry, BA, I'm not buying.

As a part of the Palin/Bachman "Real America" narrative comes the fiction that their folk are the defenders of a constituion that is being trampled.

I don't know you and am not going to lump you into a group. But I am darn tired of being lectured out HS civics ("we're a republic, not a democracy" etc.), constitutional scholarship et al. This from people who may know a lot better than me how to fix a car or combine, or what peice of ground is coming up for rent but I must say, somebody probably had to crib them through HS civics and couldn't they answer any reasonable question about the constituion, probably couldn't find China on a map (or care) or answer a few simple questions about US history.

But they are, by golly, now experts on the constitution.

And very much like the Acorn folks, they do get to vote. Just a different type of community organizer working on them.

Re: Just for the record

That's how you view us don't you Nox. We are just a bunch of dumb, redneck, tea partying, racist bitter clinger farmers that may be smart enough to raise a crop but need to leave running the government to the expert elite. You know, the people who say George W Bush brought down 7 World Trade Center and that the internal combustion engine is the biggest threat to man kind.

Re: Just for the record

I dare say there are alot more republicans think Obama is not a citizen and is a muslim than everf thought Dubya brought down the world trade center.

The Bushies and the republicans biggest problem is they are so **bleep** dishonest. WE don't believe you any more and Bush and co earned that distrust by all the lies that bought them what they wanted through fear. Even today your party and the teabaggers are using lies to cripple the current administration and bring it down We know you will do anything and say anything to do damge to our elected officials. The very same tactic used to weaken and destroy the Clinton presidency.

What destroyed Bill Clinton was Hillarycare.

Re: Just for the record

Obviously a concern is that the Palin advocates will force the party too far right and the result is an unelectable candidate.   Not going to lose sleep over this scenario.  Hopefully Palin will be content to rake in the speaking fees and ultimately help the party by endorsing a relatively moderate and electable candidate.  Enough politics, interest today is in tonight's game between Boise State and Virginia Tech.  As you already suspect I'm too much of a traditionalist to cheer for a team that plays on blue turf.

Re: Just for the record

I have heard a lot of condemnation of democrats from various parts of the country and probably 95% of it has absolutely NOTHING to do with any issue that might actually mean something to someone.  They attack full force and when they get asked what they will do if they do get elected, what do they do?  They attack again!  They, like here, find huge mistakes in grammar and spelling and then are quite proud that they found them but NEVER have a concrete agenda to fix the so-called horrible mess that democrats have allegedly caused.

Re: Just for the record

Don, I agree with Bart and you about some of the more radical right wing attacking Obama for not being a citizen or supposedly being a Muslim.   However I see both parties actively trying to tear down their opponents these days as opposed to building up themselves with well thought out ideas and proposals.  Reagan and his wife Nancy were on the receiving end of plenty of left wing attacks as were both Bushs.  Clintons and now Obama have taken plenty of arrows as well from a the more radical right wing.  I think both parties have their more sensible people but both parties also have their more radical element that will make wild claims based on little fact such as Bush is drinking again or Obama is a Muslim.   In general it seems that U.S. politics has become more immature personal attacks and more heavily influenced by the more radical elements of the two parties the last couple of decades.

I think Stevens brought back more than that!  Not sure that is something to be proud of unless you are a "pork" farmer.
