I just heard them say “I think the Republicans have mis-read the room.” I presumed they were talking about the election postmortem.

That would surely seem to be the case here.

That and the denialism on the winger fringe.  Even as it heads back to between the sandwich boards on street corners.

Well, Biden didn`t go to 70% approval or anything like that,  Basically the 25 year olds came out to lock in abortion rights ..."now leave us alone!".   Oh sure there always has been wonks that voted in every election for a more socialist government, but that gets you to neck and neck with Republicans.  It`s the voters that the polls weren`t counting on that secured the senate for Democrats and put a tourniquet on the House.

So where were the fraudulent votes in Florida and Iowa?  DeSantis said "Go ahead kill babies until 15 weeks, but after that I`m shutting you off!" Florida handily went Republican, because the baby killin noose wasn`t around the politician`s necks. 

I`m sorry but people don`t give a damn about election fraud, maybe 30% care, but most want baby killin, free stuff and saaaaaaaving the deeemocracy!

Republicans in Florida have done the same as Democrats in Illinois, gerrymandered the hell out of the states.  Doubt if another Democrat in Florida or Republican in Illinois will win much in next 10 years

That is for sure, and you if anybody here should know but I think if you look back at where it was all being crafted the sheer size of the Illinois NE urban mass led to a much less cynically drafted map than one that would have counted alligators and pythons if need be to achieve a result.

  For fifty years some republicans have been using abortion with which to beat their Democratic opponents around the head at election time.  And it didn't really matter as long as Roe held but the day the SC voided Roe that all changed.  Suddenly, the 70% of American women who believe that the government has absolutely no business telling them how to live their lives or who gets to use their bodies realized that they couldn't ignore the republican radical fringe anymore. It didn't help when barely a week later certain GOP congressmen started promising to pass a national abortion if they took control of Congress.

  Then things got really serious fast.  Compared to an abortion ban, inflation doesn't even register with that 70% of women. 

  So you f**k'n idiots go right on beating your "abortion ban" drum, I dare you.

It isn`t "me" saying this, it`s the talking heads on the Sunday shows.  I mean Donna Brazil even credits "young people coming out for abortion" ... I know some of you guys would love to spin that "Joe Biden is an economic savant" but that dog doesn`t hunt, Biden is unpopular and people hate him, but to the Democrat`s advantage they are sick of the Republican relitigating the 2020 election more.

The "25 yr old promiscuous woman" isn`t effected so much by gas prices and high cost of food.  She Ubers, doesn`t own a car and how much food does a 105lb woman eat?    Those affected by inflation already vote Republican or compartmentalize the issues they vote on.    I think if the Dobbs decision hadn`t taken place before the midterms, the "red wave" would`ve materialized.  Dobbs made it crystal clear that now the states would decide on their reeeeeeproductive riiiights.  

Hendrickson, you can`t write off results solely on "gerrymandering" because if you pull voters from one area to help your party, you are also hurting your party in  the other area.  About best you can hope for is pulling rural areas off the urban area as to not spoil the rural district.
